Garage List
2012 BMW M3 ZCP  [0.00]
2008 BMW 335i  [0.00]
2008 BMW 335xi  [0.00]
Yet another reason I live BMW's so much - as others have pointed out, the fact that the M division is able to build such amazing driveable prototypes in the search to see how and what can be done to push the limits is so awesome

The X5 Le Mans (E53S) is AWD, swapping a Torsen Unit for the road car's electronic torque management system.

A second, and less known X5 prototype was built by M at the same time. This one is RWD and features the S62 from the E39 M5 coupled to an SMGII transmission.

Little known fact about the E53S...

The P75 LMR V12 was not the first choice of engine; P80 V10 from the BMW/Williams F1 had that honor. It also ate up gearboxes in a matter of feet.

Good to know, I put "RWD-Based" since I saw conflicting reports online.
