We have M Sport on the UK configurator! And yeh probably the best looking out of the three trims!

Might look fun, but looks are deceiving.
if youve driven an x1, you've driven this. i hated my experience in the x1. everything about it felt cheap and unrefined. this is a CUV with a roundel because americas love small SUVs right now.

BMW... just give us a proper wagon already instead of lifted wagons with poor visibility out of the windows. id much rather get a 340i wagon instead of this. or even the 1er hatch.

No reason to drive the x1, so I'll believe you.

I'm struggling to find a configuration that isn't hideous. Really hoping it looks better in person.

The $50K, 4-cyl, FWD, BMW hatchback that we call an SUV. Ahh let the good times begin.

I think it's a nice looking ride. Has a youthful twist while still looking like a BMW.

How so? It's pretty good for the segment. Plus, how many little 'utes offer unique interior colors like that?

I agree, this interior does not look special enough for a £37k car (that's the 20d M Sport UK price) So I could have this or wait for the G20 RWD and my £37k will put me in a 330i (no more diesels for me) AND give me change!!! No brainer I'd say!!

How can you call it fun, when you have never driven it?

Might look fun, but looks are deceiving.
BMW SUVs are always the most fun to drive out of the competition. Our X1 certainly is. Of course I am speaking in relative terms. I am sure the X2 will be fun compared to its competition. But let's be realistic, it's still just an SUV.

I have driven my old X3 in a way no car could ever drive so I get it.

Not sure what generation X1 you have but the first Gen was a hoot to drive.

I find the X1 to be good at what it is designed for. It is a new type of BMW. I agree that you can no longer have it all, the way you could in the old BMW wagon/touring. I’m lucky enough to be able to have one vehicle for practicality and one for fun. With a boosted engine BMW might be able to get the X2 to fit somewhere in between.

Here in the UK at least, the only engine available at launch seems to be the 20d. I find this really odd as diesel sales are falling fast due to the truth about them having finally come out!! I certainly won't be buying diesel again, I've always thought it must be about so much more than just co2!

It's too bad there's no RWD/I6 version of this car. Now THAT could be cool, even though the looks don't jump off the page from my perspective. Might look better in person...

The ride quality and seats on the X1 is terrible.

Now an X2M would be more like it. This is how the X2 exterior should be designed!

Agreed. While I love the styling of the X1, I don't like the seats or the ride quality. All together it's harsh and not what an SUV ride quality should be.
