2018 Brake Squeal is Design Problem

I am convinced BMW has improperly designed the Brake System & that faulty design is why most X1 brakes squeal like you are running over babies.

The squeal is grating & distracting. I believe the Brake Rotors have natural harmonics inherent in their design and those harmonics are the root cause of the horrible & distracting noise. I support lighter vehicles were it makes sense.

Are there any heavier, better designed, rotors available for the X1 ? I am ready to get rid of this thing.

BTW: I am a Mechanical Engineer with 20 + years aerospace experience. I have tried every trick I know to stop the squeak. Not possible with this design.

Does this happen in the morning or after the brakes have warm up? The original pads may contain metal parts that oxidize in a damp/wet environment, after washing the car or even after or even after spending the night.
Have you tried changing the brake pads?
I use carbon-fiber ceramic one and no squeaky sound whatsoever.
Cheers.

From 5K miles after new brakes began to squeal. Louder & more obnoxious as they heat up. I replaced them with BMW best Ceramic Pads (w beveled leading edge) and best new Rotors. I dial indicated the rotors at less than 0.0002", both sides (expected for ground surface). Brakes squeal 2K miles later. I took it apart to see that the "Anti-Squeal" material on the piston side had worn completely through in 6 small spots exactly where the piston made contact. Rotors were re-indicated and still flat. This is a classic signature of a Harmonics Design Problem (think Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster).

I am having a hard time believing I'm the only one on the planet who is unhappy with this.

Never had a squeak on ours. Only 17k miles since new, but still on original pads and discs (rotors).
