It took us three days to slog through it. Sub-par acting, cheesy CGI, blatant violations of physics and a plot so poorly thought out that the screen play would have been better served if it had been written by drunken Chinese squirrels. I'll admit that I could pretty much watch (and listen) to Gal Godot read the phone book, but I thought this one was one of the most banal movies I've seen in a long time. My wife has a weakness for "shoot 'em ups", and this one even taxed *her* tolerance. It wasn't that "bad"..... it just wasn't that "good". Like the saying goes: "One man's trash is another's treasure". I guess "Oppenheimer", "Dunkirk" and "The Martian" spoiled me-- I don't watch many movies nowadays, but when I do, I want them to be excellent and well thought out. Gal Godot was roped into this one either because it was a contractual requirement or they gave her a metric ton of cash. Or maybe her own island. R.

I thought the opening sequence was over the top, the CGI was not even remotely realistic or probable. It did seem to settle down from there and turn out to be a better than average film.

Just watched Tetris, very good movie, had no idea about how much history and drama was behind the game.

Watched Talk to Me in theaters last night. Excellent film by A24, first somewhat original horror film I've seen in years. Genuinely suspenseful with some good scares. Highly recommend for any horror fans.

Double feature last night!
Wrath of Becky was very entertaining in multiple ways. The not so subtle current state of some of the whack jobs plaguing society and their fate in creative ways, was hilarious! Also watched MEG 2 Trench. Over the top action, thrills and fun. Only bummer, was the annoying kid. Last edited by TXSTYLE; 08-26-2023 at 01:17 PM.. |

Watched "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves" last night. Good, funny, fantasy movie. I liked it.
Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez were great.

One of my favorite somber movies, but damn if Marky Mark doesn't annoy me every time I watch it. I was wondering if that'd be any good. It struck me as a Tucker & Dale type of movie/humor (note: that was an awesome movie). Wifey wasn't interested but maybe I'll still watch it.

I'm an Alien nerd and that is rubbing me the wrong way. Your best search and rescue team is 4 women and one man? Really? Ok sure. My bigger concern is it's going to be super dark and you can't see shit.
