Roof Rack questions

I have a 2018 X1 and for an upcoming trip want to either use a roof rack from a 2015 3 series or the rack a friend has on his X5. Both are OEM. How do know if they will fit or what needs to be done without shlepping it all down to the dealer ? Thank you!

The 3 series rack will not work.
Also fairly sure the X5 rack will not work either.
