Space Saver Spare Hold Down Bracket
If you have installed the Space Saver Spare Hold Down Bracket, Part# 36106857382, care to elaborate on the procedure to replace the velcro strap unit that holds the tool kit?
I know two(2) M6X20 hex bolts with washers, part# 36106857382 are needed to secure the bracket on the forward wall of the under cargo floor cavity, but what is involved in the procedure? |

Not sure if it is needed.
I recently purchased the donut spare it through BimmerZone and the spare wheel wedges in pretty firmly when leaving the toolkit strapped in place. Only had mine in a day, but the wheel doesn’t rattle or move at all. |

I just have mine sitting in there as well, sure in a roll over it might get loose and cause mischief but I'm going to try and avoid rolling Pearl she wouldn't like that much.

Remove the compartment liner as I previously suggested.
Remove the bolts holding the velcro strap in place. Temporarily attach the bracket using the bolts Measure the location of the bracket from reliable reference points Measure and mark the compartment liner Use a utility knife to cut a horizontal slot in the forward wall of the liner. Test fit and modify. If you do this carefully, the slot will look like it was manufactured in. Takes 10 min, max. |
