Which model do I choose

Hi Everyone

Long time lurker, first time poster. Great to read about all the different perspectives you have. I'm in Thailand and we'll be getting the locally assembled model around July/August. The import model was made available last month but it was a very small shipment and missing a number of things to keep costs down (no rear air vents, yes it's just a void in the back of the center console).

We'll have three models here and all the options are locked in barring paintwork (limited options) and upholstery colours (linked to paintwork). Had to take photos of the specs as there are no electronic versions available to copy and paste at the moment.

If you could read through and give me your view on which one I should go for. Things I'm interested in hearing your views on in particular include:

*Is the 1.5l underpowered?
*Does the M Sport contain any features I would want?
*Are there any options I really should have that are missing?
*Which is the best value model?

So the three models with local pricing are:

18i sDrive xLine £46,555.59/US$67,302.24/€59,663.10
18d sDrive x Line £49,527.06/US$71,597.51/€63,473.01
18d sDrive M Sport £51,524.44/US$74,475.27/€66,034.42

Obviously the pricing is pretty outrageous here in Thailand. Just to explain why that is if you didn't know. CBU models have about 300% tax and duty added to them. CKD models though cheaper still attract an 80% markup. Taking that into account, the above listed CKD models seem reasonably priced, but the Thai Baht is weak at the moment so that is obviously priced into the equation and could have been even cheaper for us if the F48 had been released a couple of years ago.

To get in the queue I went for the 18i, but as soon as I realised it's only a 1.5l I switched to the 18d xLine in Black Sapphire with Mocha colored interior.

Any help/opinions and advice is much appreciated!

And I thought prices vs US etc were high here! It's crazy. Makes me a bit more grateful.

I'm just wondering about the difference between the 1.5l petrol and the 2l diesel. Is that worth the extra 3k pounds.

Still super cheap when compared to Singapore.

Anyway, I would get the diesel if you are concerned with power. It has more torque which is suitable for traffic (especially in Thailand)

The M sport will have sport seats, which some say is a must have. The suspension will be more firm and lowered slightly. And the m sport steering wheel.

True, and I know you have to get then COE which is super pricey, as well as replacing your car after a certain number of years (10 I think).

That said, avg SG salary vs avg Thai salary means it's super hard to buy a luxury european brand here.
