Agree on the looks, don't get me wrong. But going from 135i to a 6-series GC was a bridge too far.

Aloha!! Greetings to lovely Hawaii! Love it so much!

I got you! I'm also owner of a Alpine White M140i and it's for sure was my first but last white car. Nothing against them it's just one was good enough!

I thought it would be a good idea to get one of these for my wife. She hated it. Didn't drive it but a handful of times. Front seats were uncomfortable and too low. Rear seats were useless for car seats and even less comfortable than the front seats. Drove like a boat.

I sometimes forget we ever had it. Hardly took any photos of it either. After a few years, she replaced it with an M2C.

Wow! I never been inside a 6 series but my expectations was this was at least a very comfortable car considering the size of it! So wow... Well i'll probably will not be getting any at this life either. Too big cars for us. My wife's Jag is also like you mentioned. A boat! But in regards comfort it beats many BMW's but i still prefer to feel my humble M140i nervous feeling despite it's not a comfortable car. Far from that. Also moving to the M2C wondering if your wife also don't care more about the comfort experience now

She loves the M2C. It's truly her car. I don't drive it. The kids don't ride in it. But guess who still has to wash it?

MY 2018 M3 is my first BMW and I've had a shitload of cars over the past 40 years.

My mother had a 1983 733i, and my father had a 1987 M6. I was in college when he had the M6 and I didn't get to drive it much.

My one and only BMW was my E84 X1. It was a great compromise between family practibility and fun.

Sadly BMW being unwilling to do anything about a timing chain that both my local dealer and my independent said was going, led to us not feeling comfortable driving the car for anything more than local trips. Ufortunately it just wasn't bad enough to meet the requirements for a proactive replacement and I was only a couple of months from exceeding the extended coverage.

I would have seriously considered an M240 as a replacement, but the G42 was not yet available when I bought my new car.

Cool! So was your dad's M6 somehow an inspiration for your F80? Do you have any pics of the cars? Of you mum's car also

Oh wow! So you took the X1 on track? Not the best car to turn i guess and not much responsive! The M240i definitely will make a bit of difference. Thanks for sharing!

My E84 X1 was also my first BMW, I've since moved on to the F48 X1 as it is very practical and it's just 2 of us and a dog. It's a 20d and I'm really glad I made the change considering the current fuel prices.

Is there an M635CSi and in the end an Alpina?

That's awesome! You only like blue cars or this was just a coincidence? BMW has crazy beautiful variants of blues. Great car line up!

All of our BMWs have been blue, I wanted to give Brooklyn Grey Metallic a chance but the wife won out. A couple red cars (GTI, Miata) in our past, itching for a factory or paint to sample green in the future.

-2013 E70 X5 xDrive50i Black Sapphire/black
-2014 F30 328i sedan Glacier Silver/black
-2016 F85 X5 M Alpine White/black

First bmw was the 2007 e92 325i bought it 4 years ago got it for just under 5k and then spent nearly 20k restoring it to showroom condition, next I got a 1995 316i that was being given away for scrap. I restored that myself during the first lockdown. Then I got an e46 318ci from a mechanic neighbour of mine. For Christmas this year I treated myself to a 1995 840ci and after 3 months driving that as a daily driver I decided to get an electric to keep petrol costs down to a sane level, so I got the 2015 i3.

I am passing on the e46 to a friend of mine as a gift, I am just waiting for him to take it away. I never plan on selling any of the other 4. I find it a nice mix of 4,6,8 cylinders and the i3 is a super car I want to see how many miles I can get on that before it dies completely.

My favourite out of the lot is the e92 the steering feel and handling are sublime and the engine is just so smooth. To me it is the perfect balance of luxury and sportiness and to my eye one of the most beautiful cars made by any brand. Some random pics of the lot…
