Thoughts on BMW XM

Hey Guys,

Seems are getting closer to the new XM. After seeing the photos of one out in the wild. This might be my next M car. I think is coming with S68 750HP.

What's guys thoughts on this?

If the patent and spy pictures are accurate, it's the ugliest BMW ever created. I don't care about its performance, it's just too hideous.

Same here, its turning out to be ugly as sin, and using this as the first standalone M car for the 50th anniversary is a slap in the face for everything M stands for, should have simply just been called the X8.

A humongous, ugly, nearly 6000 lb vehicle. Hard pass.

I can't see myself ever buying any X BMW. I like smaller cars like my M2.

I like my X3 a lot for family hauling, road trips, camping, etc. - it's an SUV, but among them all it was by far the most fun to drive (even with an automatic and electric steering). Not fun exactly, let's say the least numb. Relatively speaking it's also fairly small.

Generally though agreed on the smaller cars, i.e. my 1-er. No plans at all for an X5, X7, XM, Xeleventybillion, etc. Maybe if I had 5 kids I'd change my mind.

The people showing interest in this vehicles looks need to have their eyesight reviewed and possibly take away their drivers license. They are obviously blind...

It looks like it's shaping up to be a complete modern day BMW douche-mobile. Go spend that money on a couple of actual M cars from yesteryear when M actually stood for "Motorsport".

Meh. Kind of what you call a false choice. You could also just buy a better looking car.

I'll reserve judgement until I see one in person. IMO a lot of BMWs design lately seems to look much better in person. I've bought into some (but not all - ex: iX) of that design language - it's bold and aggressive, and I guess not very photogenic.

FWIW we parked next to an iX a couple of weeks ago and my two boys and wife thought it was really cool. I actually think it looks pretty decent now that I have seen it in person. I'm not so sure about the XM as I will have to see that in person as well before coming to a conclusion there but it's not what I would call pretty from the photos we have seen.

It appears to be the BMW for people who really would like a Urus.
