Main enemy, antagonist or whatever you want to call it was very lackluster.
This film should have been much better.
Thinking out loud, so the crazy chimp made that Asian guy weirded out in a very subtle way, but I don't see the pt either....it made him leave showbiz, start an amusement park and then indirectly got all those ppl killed, creating a new tragedy and finally getting passed the baton when the chimp was gonna fistpump him? I got nothing haha.

Yup, definitely wasn't engaging enough, I had to 2x speed it, the pacing was SO SLOW, even w the faster speed!!!

Peele is hit-or-miss for me, his s1 of Twilight Zone was quite poor but he improved in s2, some movies were good and some were bad/not as good. I dunno about the plot, a live ufo eating ppl? Not very interesting or visually stimulating, just seemed so silly and I couldn't buy it. The acting was hit/miss also. I know the guy's dad died but he was almost dead as well, can hardly get a reaction outta him, and like you said, his sister was too hyper. The tech guy was good, although a bit unrealistic in his rudeness to customers. That Wincott character was a caricature.

Funny coincidence as it seemed a bunch of us watched it just last night.
So true!

I had high(er) hopes because "Get Out" and "Us" were decent flicks.

I just hope Peele doesn't turn into the current Gens M Night. Peele had Get Out, Us, then seems like a decline.

M Night Unbreakable, Sixth Sence, Signs, then decline....

Watched Top Gun Maverick.

My take is it is better than the first, but you of course need the first, or most of this wouldn't be.

This looks interesting, and I just read that the Chris Pine character is modelled/styled after Dr. Jordan Peterson.

They released a clip the other day with Harry Styles and his acting was terrible, he rolled through three different accents in a one minute clip. Seems like Florence Pugh will be carrying the film.

Although this isn't a movie, if you haven't watched the show Peaky Blinders, please do. You won't regret it.

Re-watched Glory last night since wifey had never seen it before. Didn't realize it came out in 1989! Still a great movie with some great performances. It never clicked before that the 'jump to conclusions board' guy from Office Space was in it (as was the Dread Pirate Roberts, aka Wesley).

Has anyone seen Everything Everywhere all at Once?

Because that was about the worst movie that i've seen in many years... to my shock its very highly rated on Imdb and Rotten Tomatoes... I think someone with severe ADHD made this move.

I loved it, seen it twice now, excellent movie and hopefully Michelle Yeoh's performance gets her an Oscar nom.

to me this movie is the definition of a mess... the message gets loss with the nonsense... again to each their own perhaps... on imdb it either gets a 10 by some or a 1 by others... i am in the 1 camp

I thought The Royal Tenenbaums was funny.

Wes Anderson's kind of humor is not for everyone, though.
