Smile Winter packages with Steel Wheels

Hey everyone,

I am new to the forum and have done some googling and searching, but haven't found a good answer yet.

Deal is ... I live in Michigan and our winters ... well, we get snow. I got my 2007 e92 in January and got stuck a couple of times with the stock tires (I have the 18" sport package).

I want to be ready this coming winter and am looking for winter options. I am trying to find some steel wheels for my e92, but all websites I have found list only steel wheels for other years (nothing above 2005).

Anyone know of steel wheels that will fit the e92? I might go to the actual dealer and see what they tell me.

Thanks!

If it's about the money, get a cheapie set of alloys from a place like Tirerack.com. They're really not that much - $99/wheel. It'd be a shame to put ugly black eyesores on a fine car like yours.

Steel wheels, except special ones made for Chrysler 300, do not come bigger than 16". Your car needs minimum 17" so you are stuck with alloys.

ASA JH3 is one of the cheapest and most popular amongst BMW owners. Go to Tire Rack web site to have a look.

Steel wheels do come in 17", as BMW offered them for the e46 (and I had a set). However they likely won't fit over the front brakes.

I did as halB suggested and bought a set of alloys from Tire Rack.

Thanks guys for the reply.

I guess I will end up going to TireRack and getting a set of alloys through them; however, BMW did mention that they have a winter steel wheel package (in Europe currently)

if i remember correctly, i asked my dealer about the BMW winter wheel package and i believe he said it was about $1600, he then pulled me to the side a little and said to go to TireRack.com, i'll get a much better deal...

You could buy a set of 335 rims here and mount some snows too. I'm all about tirerack though
