Wheel dimensions range question
Hello all,
I am looking into getting winter wheels for my 2018 X1 standard. The stock wheels 225/50/R18 on 7.5jx18 ET51 5x112 66.6 CB (model 566) are either difficult to find or v. expensive. So I am looking on Kijiji to find some replacements rims with or w/o winter tires installed. The question is what range of rims should I look for (from Audi/Merc/VW) that would fit my X1 without modifications? Like what are the offsets allowed for a 7.5j, 8j and 8.5j rim? Is there any other dimensions that I need to check (for ex. somebody here said that used 17" from a Mini, but front calipers did not fit) Thank you in advance! Bogdan |

Thanks MJE60!
I have used this site, but it is not clear if a particular wheel size fits the 2018 X1. It only states the relative difference between the new and the old wheel. "Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 18.1mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 58.1mm more than before." What I am looking for, are exactly how big can these numbers be for the 2018 X1? |

I picked my winter setup off tirerack. I'm running a 18X7.5" with a +45 offset with a 235/50-18 Sottozero 3. Tirerack will give you all of the approved wheel dimensions they checked for fitment.

However that doesn't mean I don't have a set of Ultraleggera's in the garage, along with a set of Superleggara's, and a bunch of other wheels. Yea I admit it. I'm a wheel whore. |

Hi all,
Just to answer my own question, and to give info to others, the GLK250/350 wheels DO NOT fit the 2018 X1! Brakes too big. In general 17'' is too small. Back to square one. Looking for a perfect fit, second hand winter wheels without breaking the bank... Best regards, Bogdan |
