This morning I turned off the fake sound and what a nice change!! In this car the sport mode is obnoxious and drony. The funny thing is, all the cool sounds (the pops and such) are all real, it was just the loud drone that was fake. Now I can cruise in sport and not be annoyed!
Beautiful X2. How did you get the colored blades in the grill? Are those an aftermarket upgrade? Just placed my order last week on one!

Just placed my order last week. For anyone that has done an order - how long did it take before delivery? My dealer is telling me 3 months (which I kind of assumed) - but curious what other owners have experienced. Ordered X2 M35i in mineral grey with red interior; the test drive blew me away!

billnchristy, chaulk one more for the misano blue. I sealed the deal yesterday, took advantage of a ton of rebates, also including another 1K from the BMW ultimate drive event. Also 0.9% financing for 60 months soooo... I did really, really good on the price. The only things I could not get because this was the dealer stock is that DDC (which after driving/reading a bit I'm not that disappointed) But I also did not get the HK system. I am not a crazy audiophile, but at least I read that some say that upgrading the speakers on the side would be more beneficial than the HK system.. so at least in my mind I have another $875 to change some of the hardware if I end up wanting to listed to the stereo more than the engine/exhaust and can't deal with the stock system. I'm not that picky, yet all the cars I've owned had "upgraded" stereos. I'm sure it'll beat the minivan for sound anyways.. haha. Waiting for some paint protection to be applied, and then I'll be cruising to work in my new toy soon.

Great news! Sounds like yours is spec’d like mine. The sound system is adequate but not spectacular.

You're in Boston also I see! Which dealer did you work with? I'm working with Herb Chambers. Placed my order last week - now just need to sit tight a couple months eagerly waiting. ACC is a must have option for me, and apparently very few gets shipped to dealers with that option in it - so have to wait.

Picked it Up Last night

the long hunt and wait is over. Picked up my car last night. haven't had a chance to really drive it yet. This weekend I am hoping for some serious seat time. I haven't had a brand new car since 2003 waiting to get to 1,200 miles is going to be difficult

in the short drives I have had I really am happy I got this.
Thanks to those who provided guidance

There’s plenty of mojo to 4K so it’s not too painful and if you keep to about half throttle it shifts there automatically

I also did herb chambers but went to Sudbury.. bummer we didn't all get together to order one up! I did get an amazing deal and a very very good sales guy, Manny. He went above and beyond! I decided I wanted the heated wheel and seats way way more than the ACC so I got the blue one off the lot. So far I have really not turned up the music loud and honestly I'm totally good with it for now. Maybe in a little bit. My next thing to spend money on is bimmercode, I already had to deal with starting/stopping the car and the Auto stop keeps on turning on by default.. Grrr.. I'm probably going to leave it in sports mode all the time, but when moving the car around the driveway it kept on chugging down to an annoying stop!.

Oh.. a new thought for everyone: I'm a teeny bit OCD about the car and I got the paint protection film put on the front. My sales guy, which was really smart.. did NOT put the front plate on for me. I completely forgot to tell him about it (for the paint protection aspect). Anyways.. the plate, with the advertising frame fits PERFECTLY in the front opening. It is a chore to get it in there, but with 4 large zipties, you can get it looped around and hold it in there. I doubt that this car desperately needs the entire hole opened for the airflow, and in my opinion makes it look nice! Let me see if I can host a picture...

Or you can simply not have a front plate or move to a state that doesn't require one.

Your intercooler is down there.

Pretty car, she looks familiar. Must be a sister.

Not sure blocking that much of the opening to your intercooler is a good idea...especially with summer around the corner.

Hmm I'll have to get down there again and check it out... It certainly would block some airflow, but I doubt it'll be that much. In my heyday of trying to get gobs of power I was gunning for as much air as I could, but often times the intercooler was already covered by the bumper and a lot of other pieces. Some cars like the supra had a sidemount that was behind all of it, yet still was efficient enough. I might have to break out some of the OBDII readers and see if I can look at some IAT readings with and without the plate. My thoughts are that it's not going to be a massive difference if any.

We drove up blood mountain to do some hiking today. I've taken the trip in our old Prius, my Fiesta, my X1 and now the X2 m35i. So much fun! Banked curves, steep turns, a true rally course on a public road! Sport mode plus sport trans kept the engine in boost and made for quick blasts between hairpins.

Here's a google image of part of the road, justice is not done. There are a lot of motorcycle videos of the run on youtube.

The funny part was, on the way down it was pouring rain and I noticed a Charger headlights behind me. It occasionally opens up to 2 lanes to allow passing and we both take off. I end up leaving him, I wasn't going crazy but 60+ in a 45 in the rain but everything smooth and under control. Later, further down the mountain I noticed the grille and light bar, it was a state trooper. Whoops. Luckily it was still pouring and he was in no mood to get out of his car, or he enjoyed the trip too, who knows!

Congrats - and nice choice - I've ordered the same color combo - now just have to patiently wait!

Just about at 1,000 miles. really am enjoying the car. Most folks who know me are mildly surprised that I didn't go fore the more sedate black interior (once an accountant always an accountant). I think it looks great. The ride is spectacular I have the DDC and rarely drive in anything but sport. So far zero issues with the car.

Good luck with the wait I cound't do it in retrospect even though I thought I could. So much for deferred gratification. If you get the reference I would eat the marshmallow now
