[1st beamer]

Hello all,

1st time BMW owner (2017 x1 xdrive, 22 km), 1st time on any forum & 1st time post ever.

Thought I share this with all 2017 x1 xdrive owners & anybody else who may/are affected.

During our orientation of our x1, we heard a clicking/tapping noise from inside the car after about 10 - 30 seconds of idling. The salesman had the car taken to the service department & subsequently learned that BMW knew of this & was a programming problem. The salesman said that it can be fix by the downloading of a new version of a required program. The salesman didn't know what programming, as he wasn't advised by the service department, but the clicking/tapping issue appears to be gone, for now.

The salesman also said that BMW has not issued any recall for such yet, as they do not known how many vehicles are involved. I guess, buyer beware.

I must admit we were a little disappointed that this was not found on pre delivery inspection.

Further to the aforementioned & thanks to this forum, we also noticed that the x1 hesitates before taking off & have advised our dealership & BMW head office accordingly. As we just picked up the x1 2 days ago, I think we going to drive it for a couple of days & further advise BMW accordingly.
