Wife's new Estoril X1

After 5 months, it finally arrived. (M-sport with Assistance Plus)
Quick impressions - rides quieter and smoother on Dunlop 19" run flats than the October test drive (non msport on 18" rims); adaptive cruise is great and consistent; standard stereo is WAY better than my old e90; sports seats better than e90 sports seats - better fit as they appear slightly smaller; & surprisingly quick (even up changing at 3500 revs as we run it in). Most importantly my wife is VERY happy (coming from a golf convertible).

That looks beautiful, congrats!! Thanks for your impressions as well. I wonder if the DDC has anything to do with the better ride than the early demos without DDC. We are getting ours tomorrow so will see how the Bridgestone 19" tyres are.

All this feedback on ride improvements is great news as my only worry was it may be harsh like my wife's current Mercesdes. However having driven an X Line on 19" wheels I figured the stiffer set up can't make the car as bad as her current one.

Our car is going to have the same set up as yours so thanks for the write up

EB is a great colour! Good to hear you're finding it comfortable, too.

Nice car for sure. If the 19's are 225/45R-19 then you are losing 11mm of sidewall from the 18's (225/50R-18). Certainly "quieter and smoother" is really about tread pattern, you didn't mention ride quality. Stinks in the USA that we can't get the adjustable suspension.

Surprisingly good ride quality. We have some pretty ordinary roads around us, and it takes a decent pothole to upset the vehicle in normal DDC comfort mode. I'll report back after the weekend as we're planning a long "country" drive which will see us on our very worst roads, and I'll have an opportunity to test the sports setting for comparison.

Oh, you have DDC and you are running in comfort mode. That changes everything. Not available in the states so folks are opting for the 18's to smooth out the ride.
