I'm out of ideas...
Picked up my new F30 this week and everything about it is spot on... except for when trying to connect my BlackBerry.
The phone is a 9790 and I can pair it quite happily and make and receive calls, but I can't get any my contacts to show or any emails. I have searched Google and these forums but can't find anything that will fix the problem. I must have paired and deleted the phone twenty times, but still no joy. Is there someone out there with the same phone that could share their settings to see if I have missed something please? BB is version 7.1.0 Bundle 2494 and the F30 is brand new, so I assume it has the latest software already on that.

If I had a choice I would not be using the BB, trust me!
My personal iPhone 5 works perfectly.

Have a look on the main phone/bluetooth forum if you havent already
http://www.f30post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=426 there are lots of BB users on there so worth private messaging them to see how they got it to work. Cheers |

Scratching around for ideas, but try delving into the Buetooth permissions on the BB for car-phone link. Sometimes the permission to export contact lists to the car is unchecked.
However, if this has been done via a BES policy, you're screwed |

Also, have you checked here? http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/nav...eck_intro.html
The 9790 isn't listed. |

Hope you get this sorted, just ordered a 320d F30 and have a company BB 9780 which work great on my Parrot. Also have an iPhone which should be ok. I'll keep my eye on the thread.

Havent had a BB for a long time, but I know I once had an issue where the contacts on the phone were seperated by a line - removed that in the options and the contacts loaded in the car just fine.
I'd bet a fiver thats the issue |

Thanks for all the replies. I've made sure the contacts are set to be all shared, but I'll try the removing the line separators and see if that helps. Will post back here if it works...

Hi Dustjunky,
I have a BB 9810 and can run all functions happily, including text/email, full phonebook, etc. I'll have a look at my settings in the morning and post on here how both my car and BB are set. I don't recall changing anything on the phone, so your problem is likely to be with the car settings. I'm assuming your car has either Business or Professional Media option? |

Thanks for that I have the pro-media package and enhanced bluetooth, so I expected it all to work quite happily. One thing I'd like to check is what bluetooth services it offers on iDrive when the connection is made as it gives no mention to anything other than phone and audio on mine.

The BB9790 isn't in the compatibility list, so it's unlikely to ever have the functionality. The Bluetooth stack on the BB is probably too old or out of spec.

OK, my setup as follows:
Go to Menu -> Telephone, select Bluetooth (telephone) -> OK. Highlight your BB and click Option button, select Configure Bluetooth -> OK, check Office & Show pictures are selected Return to Menu, select Office -> Messages. Hit Option button then check Fully download email. That should do it. Incidentally, my 9810 was released a month or 2 before your 9790, so if my BB can connect fully to the BMW yours should be able to do so as both run OS7. |

Hi Cilonen, thanks for the detailed instructions.
I seem to have stumbled at the first hurdle as there is no Bluetooth option under Telephone: I can get to the Bluetooth options from the Settings screen though and my settings are below: Here's the options for the BB: And these are for my iPhone: My contacts list on the car shows my iPhone contacts but none from the BB and messages shows nothing other than destinations sent from ConnectedDrive.

Guess one thing to add is that the BMW website lists the 9810 as compatible but not the 9790

did you click Options when highlighting the BB rather than click OK? Mine would give the same appearance as yours if I click OK when the BB is highlighted, but the other options appear if I press the Option button on the iDrive console. |

Also, check the settings on your BB bluetooth:
highlight the BMW bluetooth connection, hit menu -> properties and confirm that Handsfree, Phonebook access profile & Message notification are listed. Also, the BMW connection should be trusted and encrypted. If these are not, you may have to re-pair the phone, but remember to delete the connection on both the phone and car first. The 9790 may not be listed by BMW - doesn't mean it won't work. Main forum shows several users of 9700s working OK, and that isn't listed either. Last edited by Cilonen; 06-15-2013 at 11:16 AM.. i had the same problem syncing my samsung galaxy ace II.
phone worked fine, but no contacts. it was a permissions issue on the phone. the window to allow contacts to be synced only briefly appeared on the phones screen during set up. and as i was looking at the cars screen i missed it. once selected, it worked fine ever since. |

It seems your iDrive is giving different behaviours to mine as if I select the BB in the list, the only button that does anything is 'Option'. If I just select OK, it does nothing.
I have deleted both my iPhone and BB from the car and the car from each of the phones. I have then tried just pairing the BB and have made sure that the settings as as Cilonen said, but still nothing. I have the car booked in on Monday for another issue so hopefully they'll take a look at it, but I'm sure they'll just say it isn't on the supported phones list. If they do, then I'm really stuck as I need the phone for my work and I'm not putting all my business calls on my personal phone.

I just found a post on a German post saying that the 9790 works flawlessly with their F30. Grrrr.
And GaryF31 on this forum: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showpo...36&postcount=3
