Yes, but one could retrofit EVO into an F48, so EVO remains a possibility, hence worth mentioning.

Perhaps! In this context, we are not talking about a retrofit. It was all about new cars being produced (built) with NBTEVO as standard on the production line.

Can you help me understand if the X1 i am about to buy is upgradeable to CarPlay?

It's a 2019 UK with an 8.8" Screen, Nav displaying WAY in settings - which i think means it has Entrynav 2. It also has the WiFi hotspot and Wireless Charging.

New 2018 X1 owner. Looking to get CarPlay as well. I've been circling the drain on this one for a few weeks now... do I upgrade to the 8.8" that bimmertech is offering (oem but expensive), pick up a Chinese android unit (cheaper, large but I question the quality), or just get a module/coding (cheap but stuck w/ a 6.5" display).

You can get Carplay activated on your vehicle without any modules, etc.
You can also install 8.8 inch screen and then enjoy Fullscreen Apple CarPlay.
Best way is to get 8.8 inch screen from Ebay. Make sure it is a touch one.

Similar question to other folks here. Just bought a 2021 X1, and the dealership said I could add Apply Carplay later. Now, they are saying my "menu system" doesn't support it.

Anyway to activate it?

I am interested to know if it's possible to put applet CarPlay in my BMW X1 from 2018. I have the Nav Plus touchscreen with version EUROPE Way 2017-3.

I have the following relevant options:
6AC Intelligent Emergency Call Intelligenter Notruf

6AK Connecteddrive Services Connecteddrive Services
6UP Navigation Plus


Also, I don't mind using it with usb connection.

I have CarPlay but the last week or so when I start the car the map is static and doesn't change unless I swap from apple maps to google maps or set a destination

CarPlay not possible with ENTRYNAV Head Unit. Need ENTRYNAV2.

My carplay work as expected, however I've ran into an issue. The song currently playing through carplay is no longer shown in my instrument cluster.
It still shows up in the iDrive menu, and it shows in the cluster when I connect my phone through bluetooth and not carplay. Whenever I try to use the steering wheel control to change track or see what song is playing in the cluster, it just says "NOT POSSIBLE". Anyone else have this issue or know how to solve it?

Turn car off for 30 minutes, and iDrive reboots.
