I have to watch it tonight. Last week's episode and the mid season finale were Holy Shit moments.

And NO Spoiler Alerts from the peanut gallery, thank you.

That was quite the twist for sure.

It’s not really about the 2 bucks in isolation. It’s about the 2 bucks on top of all the other increases and the relative value of the subscription relative to time watching it and other options out there. Combined with the ability to cancel and re-subscribe to watch their content periodically, what is the point of paying monthly if we aren’t watching it all that much?

Not sure why going to dinner is a relevant comparison. I think cost of other TV options is most relevant. I pay 2 grand for football season tickets. Just because it’s entertainment doesn’t make it relevant to cost of TV subscriptions.
Gotcha. I don't bother with 4k since even with a 4k TV I've watched back-to-back programs, like the exact same episode of Top Gear in HD and 4k, and I can't see the difference.

And that's vision corrected to 20/20 on a 55" TV 10-12' away. Maybe I could tell from the same difference if I had an 88" TV or something.

I'm waiting for the show to wrap, then going to go back and watch it all from the beginning. Haven't even watched Season 5 yet.

I kind of wish I had the patience to wait until the season is done. It's just more satisfying binging and not having to wait until the next episode.

I wish everything was in 4k….my DIRECTV 4k service is amazing. They've got it figured out. What sucks is they only have 1 or 2 channels but watching sports when it's on 104/105 is a treat. Thursday night football was being broadcast in 4k and man I loved it. No commercials, ultra clarity-I LOVED it. I think Amazon gets those games this season so maybe they will continue with 4k but I wonder if their quality will be on par with DIRECTV.

In my experience directv 4k is noticeably higher quality compared to what I was streaming on Netflix (before I cancelled them)

Are you using DTV satellite or streaming?

I thought this week’s episode was ehh at best, especially if compared to last week. Hopefully next week will be more Holy Shit.

How big is your TV and how far away do you sit from it?

All I've got now is directv. Like I said earlier, directv has, imo, amazing 4k quality. Head and shoulders better than most anything I ever got streaming. Maybe my internet was part of the problem, who knows.

The two that we watch primarily are 65 and 75. About 8 feet from the 65, depending on seating slightly more or less than 10 feet. I could probably see them well from 30 feet though as bright as they are. But that's another topic.

The closer I am to it the more impressive 4k is on the 75. But I've always thought that directv had excellent picture quality when compared to what I saw from cable providers or what I was getting when streaming content. This goes back to when HD was still in its infancy.

That 90's show is coming soon to Netflix. Man, damn. This might be the show that forces me to pay Netflix again. Damnit. I'm happy and crushed all at once. It has everyone back but Danny masterson. Definitely excited.

Get a Firestick (..and download Films+). You'll be able to access everything…….including Netflix/Disney+/Hulu/etc. content without supporting woke streaming services with your dollars.

Finished Season 1 of The Old Man last night. Enjoyed the season and expect there will be a season 2. They certainly set it up for one.

Edit: Now I know why there were only seven episodes (and that there will be a season 2). Never know Jeff Bridges had been so sick.

Just finished the final episode of season 1. Wow, that last bit was a stunner. Good show. Glad I stuck with it.

Thanks for the link, RickFLM4. Surprised to read about Jeff's sickness. Hope he pulls through. Tough guy right there.

I hope this is good! I thought the Lord of the ring movies were good, the hobbit movies were a bit of a letdown. But I'm a huge fan of the books, The return of the King trilogy.

Same here. There's some atretches in the show but I've liked it so far. Didn't pay attention to the episode count but now I know I saw the season finale last night.

Started watching American Horror Stories on Hulu. Meh...not horrible overall and it has it's moments but it's still not up to snuff compared to season 1 of American Horror Story. Then again neither were most of the seasons of the original.

AHS is overrated imho. I get confused between 'Story' and 'Stories', why did they do that? It has its moments but overall, just ok.

If you want a truly shocking, freaky series w actual scares, try the French's Marianne. That old woman...ahh! I really liked it and consider myself a horror aficionado.
