Stock Pirelli P7 RFT
I'm on the stock Pirelli P7 RFT that come along with the car. Have done 35k kms so far. Can someone here help me understand how long can these go?
P7's are known for long life as per the company |

There are large differences in wear with the car type be it an S Drive or an X Drive. Also with driving style and whether it is Gasoline or Diesel engine.
Just be aware fast cornering and aggressive driving that uses DSC means more breaking and accordingly more brake and tyre wear. Is it an S Drive? Is it Petrol (Gas) or Diesel? Town or motorway style driving?

These tyres are at 3mm. But Michelin says it's too early to change tyres at 3mm because once the tyre starts wearing they provide better dry grip, breaking and also make less noise.

adi555, your tires have a wear bar found in the valleys of the tread to help visually determine how close you are to the minimum depth. Once the face of any tire reaches close to that point, you should strongly consider getting a new set.
From your 2nd photo, it looks like you're close to the wear bar indicator, but it's hard to tell. Legal minimum tire depths are set by locality, but there's nothing stopping you from getting a new set sooner. Handling characteristics in wet/snowy conditions may be compromised if you're driving on tires that have reached the minimum depth level or are close to it. I've attached a close up of mine. I regularly rotate my tires ~5-6k miles and check tire pressure pretty regularly about once a month, which helps maximize tire life but maybe not necessarily handling characteristics. I'm currently at ~42k miles. I expect at least another 5-10k miles before I consider new tires. Regardless of what the manufacturer recommends, I wouldn't delay getting new tires if you've reached the legal minimum depth, hit the tread depth indicator level or feel there's compromised handling characteristics. |

Time to change / upgrade tyre
Hello, My 2016, F48 is on the Bridgestone Potenza RFT that come along with the car. Now it has clocked 50K (Being a smooth driver I didnt mind clocking 10-15K extra ), It is high time to change / upgrade them. Now a day most of my run is on highway only.
As stock RFT (225/55/R17) tyre are very very noisy after reading all positive feedbacks of tubeless, i am inclining towards tubeless. any suggestion is welcomed |
