i strongly suspect my wife and i had it.

she works in a hospital and believes it had been circulating there for at least 4-6 weeks before they began taking extra precautions for "influenza-like illness" (ILI) patients. in early february, the wife had about 3 days worth of ILI symptoms (headache, body aches, and mild fever) but noted the lack of upper respiratory symptoms...and then how quickly it all went away.

about a week later i had similar, but milder episode. i actually took a sick day mainly because i woke up with headache in the middle of night and couldnt get back to sleep.

we are both 50 and in very good health and above average physical fitness.

Yup. They were convinced it was just the normal flu. Idiots.

I swear my wife had it too, horrible dry cough, body aches, headache, fever. This was in late Jan/early Feb iirc. I somehow didn't get it tho or didn't have symptoms.

So le wife's cousin's wife is a respiratory therapist with fucking UCLA, and she came into contact with a man who tested positive now she's got symptoms. This woman is an educated professional, but she's now at home interacting with her husband and kids and then last night decides she HAS to go out to walmart to see if there's stuff to get. Wtf? I hate ppl.

I'm the same.

In late Jan, my wife came down with "something" in mid/late Jan-- high fever, body aches, cough, etc. She has a superhuman immune system, so whatever she had (and it was BAD) would have killed me. She works for a medical company at their headquarters, and they have people coming in and out from all over the world-- and they have a few offices in China.

Since I could NOT be sick for Training, we isolated from each other in the house for about two weeks-- she stayed in the master bedroom and Clorox wiped anything she touched when she left. I lived in the guest bedroom and tried to keep my distance.

It worked well.

Of course, it could have just been an evil case of the flu, but the similarities are enough to make you go "hmmmmmm".

I had the flu Feb 9th - Feb 15th. It began with a headache though, there was not much a cough, but lots of mucus. I was tested positive for the flu. But it was flu season, I don't think it was Corona, but who knows?

Well, if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it probably isn't a platypus.

Whatever I got hit with, it came on like a freight train-- literally in the space of a few hours. Fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, massive headache, and UNBELIEVABLE sore throat.

I was fine yesterday afternoon-- went up to pick up my wife at the airport (she was coming back from CA as her brother had just died this past weekend), and by the time I got home, I could barely crawl into the (guest) bed.

I had to call in Sick off a four-day trip that I was supposed to fly tomorrow (I'm an airline pilot) and got shuffled from the NurseLine to the PA at my PCP's office-- everything done over the phone or video chat.

Bottom line is that yes, I'm symptomatic but no, I can't be tested. Colorado is so screwed up in that department that only critical patients are being tested at this time. And since there's no treatment, it doesn't really matter. The PA said that even medical professional's can't get tested, and if they *do* send out a test, the turn time is well over a week.

So, unless I get a LOT worse, treatment is for symptoms at home. I moved into the guest bedroom and guest bathroom last night, and I'm in isolation/quarantine for the next ten days.

And my wife went nuts with Clorox wipes.

This sucks.

On the plus side?

Cats. They think laying in bed all day is GREAT. They're COMPLETELY in favor of isolation in the bedroom. With fluffy blankets on the bed.

I figure as an airline pilot, I've been exposed to pretty much half of the world population in the airports and airplanes in the last two weeks.

Ugh.

I have two kids that just got fevers, headaches, and have sore throats. Went to the doctor and they said just typical virus since no cough. Really hope they are right.

No this was at the pediatrician. They seem to really be focused on coughing. They won't let you into the building if you have a cough, but you are fine to come in with other symptoms.
