Yeah well, I was born in 1982 and my generation gave us green parties that I would love to vote for if even one of those damn idiots could count even a bit.

My all time favorite is the electricity saving light bulbs which now are the only kinds allowed to be sold here. They cost about 10-15 times more than the old fashion ones, and they have to be processed as hazardous waste. The extra energy the old fashion ones used went to heat, and since I live in Finland, we have no, no dark times in the summer time, and in the winter time when we have zero light, we spend all the money we don't have to spend in buying extremely expensive light bulbs in to heating our homes.

The few dumb ones out there protesting give the many hard working people a bad name. Most of my friends of similar age work 2 jobs while going to college or grad school, not protesting outside state buildings for free stuff.

To be fair, a lot of this stems from the information that is constantly fed to them 24/7 about how things should be. We live in a world where people seek instant answers for their questions and take what answers they receive at face value, instead of figuring things out and verifying the validity of their sources for themselves.
100%, i too had the same experience in school...

sadly these days, most people are idiots that feed of social media nonsense whilst following and listenting to bullshit celebrities that never had to work and have no education preaching to them about how life is unfair... jesus, the irony

Millenials are largely absolute cancer, obviously, but I have some faith that Z will rebel against their useless parents.

In a lot of ways Millennials are like a broken mirror of boomers, both groups tend to be selfish, lacking critical thinking and incredibly consumerist. Boomers fetishized Ronnie Raygun without realizing his policies (amnesty, gun bans, massive spending, funding terrorists, massive growth in government) led to the destruction of the America they grew up in (and the commies winning the culture war in America). Sadly many of them have zero awareness what happened on their watch or learned from their mistakes as mostly voted for Dubya. Twice. But at least some of them do seem to be finally waking up to what they did.

Millennials tend to also be useful idiots working against their own interests - believing they are crusaders for progress but actually being good footsoliders for corporations and the 0.001%. 20 years down the line I can see a mass millennial awakening, realizing they were responsible for the death of this country, some of the oldest millennials like me and very young Xers already realized whats happening but we're a depressingly small subgroup
Uhhh.... I think you need to go read Reagan's history in context. He was the breath of fresh air the country needed, after the dark years of Nixon, Ford, and then Jimmy Carter - the worst president prior to Obama. The economy was decimated, the military was decimated, and Congress was..... Congress.

The economy roared, people went back to work, and true advancements were made across all sectors of the population.

Because you were too...young?

It was this generation that dragged the recovery out for 8 years, and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in Iraq/Afghan.....

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH.

Since we so heavily fought in it as well, I guess it was our fault. Maybe we should have figured out a viable strategy ourselves.

LOL.

I think in the old days people like me who are pushing 40 started to become their parents. I am clearly a new prototype since I was told yesterday I'm turning in to my granddad.

My dad's dad was apparently jovial and funny until he turned 40, and after that he was the biggest penny stretcher in the world. I made fun of his way of buying construction materials for his projects by calculating things like paint consumption and then buying it in bulks. I honestly remember laughing out loud when i realized he was buying paint for his house and his summer house in one load so he could save like 50 cents per liter.

And now, when my 36th birthday is nearing I'm doing the exact same thing. He drove my grandma insane and my husband can now relate to her feelings well. I'm not even sure if I'm stalling because I don't want to move again or have I really decided that the end of the world is here and I need to save every cent (and apparently the maximum savings one can pinch is about 7%, so this is a lot of effort basically for pennies). I keep using words he used to use, I calculated the costs of new sewer lines yesterday and I'm fairly certain making an excel sheet with part numbers can be classified as an overkill.

None of us have any hope. The young blame the previous generations because this moment when we realize they weren't born like that but that they turned in to that and we are next is scary.

Oh wow, you can buy as many automatic weapons as often as you want? SO much misinformation my heads spinning.

As a millennial, the majority of my peers are absolutely brain dead when it comes to politics. Liberal zombies spoon fed propaganda from "the daily show with Trevor Noah".
