I manage the Small Business/Commercial Credit department. Basically look at complex deals over our Credit Centre's exposure limits. Not as exciting as my previous job in Fraud Management or AML, but a necessity to move up as part of my career development.

I am also a banker....reformed banker. I spent 18 years in the bank side in Commercial and Corporate banking with various National and Regional banks. I am now over all retail and commercial lending for a $2B asset credit union. I have a $3mm credit pen for exposure up to my limit, with all loans over that TCE going to committee....was basically given the opportunity to come here and build the lending shop from the ground up...

Are you with one of the Big Canada banks, or a smaller shop..?

How do you get a DVD to stop picking up where you left off.

Say I want to watch it from the beginning. I pick it out, turn on the player, press the open button, put the disc in the tray, close it, and it automatically starts from wherever it last was. Ugh so annoying. Is there anyway to permanently make it always start from the menu screen?
Need to press the stop button on the remote twice to start from the beginning. If you want to skip the trailers press play immediately after pressing stop twice. On same players you have to press stop 3 times.

Big Mean Green Machine! I was fortunate to come on during the Aeroplan acquisition process and help build the National Credit Card Decision Centre with a SLA of 24 hours. TD's escalation environment is very structured and risk averse with Retail Risk Management making the decision when over my exposure limit of 1.5MM

For SBB rarely do we escalate, but on the commercial credit side they see a lot of traffic and then escalate to their AVP for approval of anything over 3.5MM

Enjoying the credit world for now.

TD is a beast and very conservative, but they struggle here in the states with culture and identity. I started with another big green machine (FIRST UNION NATIONAL BANK). When they bought Wachovia, the DOJ required FUNB to divest about 200 offices and shared back office staff....I was part of this sale. Acquired by a small regional bank, who was itself acquired by SunTrust about 2 years later. Over 8 years, worked for 3 different companies - never left my office

RBC had the same issues (culture in the U.S.) when they acquired Centura Bank....ultimately led them to sell the U.S. unit to PNC.

On the credit side - I consider myself a commodity I always have a place with my skill set - even more so now that Credit Unions are in the commercial game!

Yeah we didn't have the best year in the U.S., some so so results in Q2.

Quote:
U.S. Retail
Includes Personal and Commercial Banking, TD Auto Finance (U.S.), Credit Cards (U.S.), TD Wealth (U.S.), TD's investment in TD Ameritrade

U.S. Retail generated adjusted net income of US$502 million in the second quarter. Excluding the Bank's investment in TD Ameritrade, the segment generated adjusted net income of US$433 million, an increase of 2% compared with the same quarter last year. We continue to see strong loan and deposit growth, excellent asset quality, and good progress on our productivity agenda.

TD Ameritrade contributed US$69 million in earnings to the segment, a decrease of 1% compared with the second quarter last year.

I work as an Infrastructure manager at a hedge fund in NYC. Best position I ever had!! In at 9 out by 4 and no one bothers me on the weekends unless shit gets real.

When it comes to IT infrastructure the place to be is finance. These guys give their IT departments huge budgets since then need to stay on top of the technology curve.

I'm also a Banker! I work for BAML/US Trust.

My job is a little different than the Ops and Risk folks we have on here. I work on the client side of lending. Though i do find it interesting most of the bankers here work on some form of debt platform. Sign of the times i suppose?

Mostly I do primary origination, Home Equity, and Refinances on homes. 80% of my time is spent on Primary Origination and Refinancing those homes. Happy to talk to clients or forum members here about where i'm most competitive.

I also work with our Mortgage backed Securities team, and have a partner I work with on our Commercial/SBB lending.

I started in MNA, but for now i'm having a great time riding out the rate-wave we've been having.

In terms of Hours I work? When you're a commision employee working leads across the USA, that's somewhat hard to quantify. I work in my office from 8-4 every day (except a 11-12 gym break) But i'm on my laptop and the Good for Enterprise app pretty much 24/7.

Infrastructure and security vs. coding and support are probably different in terms of tasking...
