In-Law's pup was hit and ran

I don't know how anyone in their right mind could do something like this, but my sister-in-law and her husband's puppy (Nala) was hit last night after she got away from my brother-in-law's mom on Saturday night. His mom fell down while letting Nala out and she took off. I don't like asking people for help, but if any of you want to donate to the cause, they would definitely appreciate it (and need it); they're looking at $10K+ in medical costs. If not, no big deal, thanks for reading!

Here is the go fund me link for the whole story: http://www.gofundme.com/NalaMedical

Thanks for the read and in advance for any donation!

? For $10,000 the dog will probably be paralyzed and brain damaged?

Wouldn't the money be best suited to help other dogs?

There is a decent prognosis for her. The doctors are saying there is a 50-75% chance she'll be able to live a full/normal life after her surgery. Obviously everyone won't agree with their decision but they love her and want to save her. I would do the same thing.

Wow, very sorry to hear this... But I agree that $10K is a VERY steep amount. Would the local vet perhaps lower his prices somewhat considering what happened?

$10K sounds like maybe a simple wound drain, x-rays, and a cast on one leg, especially if someone comes in in tears after normal business hours, no?

Still sorry to hear about ANY pain, physical or emotional.

Yeah, it's definitely a lot of money. I think the quote they've received is an "all-in" estimate, at least that's my understanding. So the cost of the care they've received thus far, plus whatever additional surgeries/medicine/continued care she'll require on the road to recovery.
