Tdi-tuning crtd4 multi channel with rpm petrol tuning box chip

Hello.

I wanted to give a shout out to Peter_R for watching closely my endeavors and helping out to suggest a new solution for my BMW X2M35i.

With that being said, I just ordered one of the following with the BlueTooth Module:

https://tdi-tuning.com/en-us/car/bmw...uning-box-chip

Shipped to the US was $447 w/online discount and shipping.

I did so, not after the initial recommendation, but I did review some Google search posts and YouTube videos of reviews of this product and various automotive tunes.

I also downloaded the Software App to my my Apple Phone and reviewed all the features without finding any quirks. In other words, it appears to be a solid software implementation including map updates, etc. through the software. Everything that I was hoping for the Dinan product could not give, but I digress.

The website, the product, the software, the reviews, the understanding of how it 'really' works is what sold me on doing this.

Now I'll have to wait a week-or-two, and will let you know how it all goes.

In summary, seems like a superior solution, at the outset, to the BMS and Dinan units. But until I get it, I can't truly say for sure but just sharing my thoughts.

Thanks again Peter_R

The way I look at it. Our vehicle is Euro. The transmission is Japanese. Makes sense that Euro support comes out first - since our vehicle is made in Germany. I just called my brother-in-law that lives in Germany that is friends with a guy that owns a tuner shop in Munich. We just 3-way called. Long story short, TDI-Tuning, according to this guy was very reputable, albeit out of the UK, but still 'known'.

Now I'm excited.

sounds great - i hope it works out for you.

my bt component isn't working on the bms unit, so i'm stuck on map1, but really i think that map1 is the safest map to run without boltons or a different fuel mixture, so while i'm awaiting the new bt unit, it's likely going to stay in map1 anyhow. it's been an oem+ experience, nothing transformative, but i wasn't expecting something transformative at all. overall i'd say it'ss worth the money if it doesn't give me problems. the driving experience has been similar to rice_rocket88 's but without any of the errors that he has had to deal with (thus far, at least). if it does give me problems, i can return the unit or do what rice_rocket did and program my own 'tune'. alternatively, i can do what you did and ditch the unit for what you just purchased, so keep us updated!

@xcelir8bmw
Please update us all with your progress as things progress. I never used this company (Tdi tuning) when I first found them years ago, so I would be interested in your view. I did get a lot of free advice from them when I remapped a 2003 Audi Tdi and a 2007 E90 BMW 325d M Sport.

Looks cool... although the claim of a massive gain to 362 BHP sounds like it's reaching without something like E85 or some obnoxious increase in boost. Definitely am in for following this though!!

Racechip is similar. Watched reviews of TDI vs Racechip on other vehicles and pretty much are similar except Racechip box is huge vs TDI easier to hide. Both have Bluetooth functionality.

My understanding is that there is not availability with Racechip yet.

Correct. When I researched, they only did the 2.8i.

I should be receiving the TDI-Tuning package by the end of THIS WEEK.

That means, I should have an update as well by THIS WEEKEND.

Stay tuned.

Here's another one, not sure anything about the company:

Hi wILLIAM,

Thank you for your enquiry regarding #truetune for vehicle FG11 VYF.

https://satuning.co.uk/truetune/

The #truetune is a personal remapping tool, not a tuning box. It allows you to remap a vehicle without leaving home.

Stock you should be running approximately 326 bhp and 450 NMs of torque. Previously we have achieved an average of 380 bhp and 520 NMs of torque with this vehicle. This is with a Stage 1 Remap, which is designed for use with standard components and within all mechanical tolerances. We class this as our fast road application, which is the best all round performance for stock vehicles.

As a natural consequence of more torque you may also see better fuel economy when driving conservatively. However, this can vary from vehicle to vehicle and is dependent on driving style.

This is a very similar to the product I used on my 2007 E91 (Touring) 325d M Sport. I cannot remember the name of the company unfortunately. It was a very large one based in the EU. If I cast my mind back, I purchased the product, then downloaded the standard ECU map from my car and sent it away to the company. They then sent me 3 different maps that I loaded into the tool. I could change the map to whatever I wanted at any time. I had to be careful that the battery was fully charged before switching maps, because the procedure took me about 20 minutes to carry out, and if there was low battery voltage the remap could fail. The maps ranged from economy to the highest that was possible, plus you could go back to the standard map for visits to the dealer. There was also a valet mode.

Personally having had this knowledge and experience with many other tuning boxes on several VW Golf turbo diesels, in my opinion the Tdi Tuning box is the better product by far.

I have also used a product called Bluefin, and, around the time I used Superchips https://www.superchips.co.uk/?gclid=...UaAnJqEALw_wcB to flash my Audi A3 Tdi.

Superchips used to be big in the US some years ago. Not sure if they have a presence there now.

...on track to receiving the DHL package by tomorrow.

Once I receive it, I'll take pictures of everything and post them.

And then, impressions thereafter.

I'll be interested to learn what connections it makes to the engine sensors. Their video indicates that generally they intercept the fuel pressure and manifold pressure sensors, and that "some vehicles" are different.

This type of approach is nice in that it's completely external, and reversible. I'll be super-interested to know if it truly achieves 20% like the promo material swoons about. It seems unrealistic, and maybe risky. In some cars, maybe, but the M35i is fairly highly tuned already.

Just remember the figures quoted are for that engine. BMW are typically conservative with their production power level figures, so I would expect more than the 20% gain as advertised.
If they (Tdi) say it does, then it will. In the UK, we can challenge them through trading standards if they fall short.
