I'm looking to add a bike rack to my X2. It seems a trunk rack (like this one - https://www.saris.com/product/bones2) makes the most sense.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Got a custom hitch rack installed locally (Torklift Central, about $400 but it's way more sturdy than a bold on) and use my Kuat NV 2.0, works awesome and is rock solid.

I've had the Saris Bones 2 while I was living abroad and only had a cheap car for a couple years. It's a nice rack for the price, don't get me wrong, but no matter what you do you're likely going to scratch or scuff the paint from the straps and hooks. Plus, it really is dead easy for someone to just come up and cut the straps to steal your bike and rack. Not a bad option for cheaper cars, but I can't imagine using one on my BMW.
