X2 Facelift redesign official

The BMW press site has official new information about the X2 facelift. Mainly it's about the XDrive25e, but there are notes about "all models".

https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/globa...w-x2-xdrive25e

Quote:
Compact SAC combining versatile sportiness with exemplary efficiency and an electric range of up to 57 kilometres* – new design and equipment features also for the conventionally driven model variants of the BMW X2.

I don't see much new for the "conventionally powered variants" except for this:

Quote:
The new BMW X2 xDrive25e offers attractive new design and equipment features which are also available for the conventionally powered variants of the compact-sized SAC model. New front design with taut surfaces and without fog lights, new exterior colour Phytonic Blue metallic.
And this, which isn't clear whether it's across the X2 line:

Quote:
Standard LED headlights now with integrated bad weather light. Also new: Business package including real-time traffic information.
Shrug. Not much.

It does look much more modern and inline with the rest of the X range having ditched those fogs. Other than that, changes look minimal to me.

I like the blue, and I wonder if they ditched the little storage flip door in the back. I love that little space. Perfect for a couple of bags of groceries to keep them from flying during the spirited drive home. Plus, out of view if desired. If it's uneven or too deep, it'll be a problem for dog owners...

So they've done away with fog lights, but presumably somehow built it into the headlights as 'bad weather' lights?

I like the new blue, but I do like the look of the foglights too. Will be interesting to see what the new M35i looks like.

Yep. There is some sort of additional focused beam, probably another motor-actuated lens like the levelers we have. I wonder if it's a conventional bulb, or LED. I would think the bright white of the LED could be an issue in fog, but I'm sure some lighting engineer has thought about this.

re the M35i, I doubt we'll see much more. They don't seem to have done much along the skirts. There might be some kind fake-ish diffuser at the rear on this x25e shot. I guess we shall see.

The screen looks a bit bigger, but it's still iDrive 6. Anyone notice anything else?

Hey I thought all the X1's had the electronic shifter... but that X2 picture has the manual shifter still. Surprised it's only idrive 6 when everyone else is with idrive 7?

The plug-in hybrids come with the old 6-speed AISIN transmission found in early pre July 2017 X1s.
Same case with the X1 plug -in hybrid.

That's the 10,2 inch new screen as in the X1 LCI.
Too bulky and ugly shaped for my taste.
Still idrive 6 engender though series 1 got id7 in all specs including the digital cluster.
As a result no Android auto upgrade for both the X1 and X2.

Looking at the interior photo there looks to be an additional switch next to the tailgate switch.
Not seen on any other X2, I wonder what’s that for? Maybe something just for X25e model like the charging flap release???

The marketing materials for the x25E refer to the low center of gravity achieved by placing batteries below the rear seat. But I bet that model swipes the rear space too. There aren't any shots of that area to verify.

The other models are almost certainly unchanged in that area, my belief anyway.

Looks like the screen I have in my X1 LCI. Something changed?
