M35i real world dyno?
Anyone ever done a dyno on a stock M35i?
Sticker says 302hp, but at higher speeds butt check says maybe a touch more? Just curious if maybe BMW is really being a bit conservative with their numbers like I've read before. Did a search, but nothing definitive came back.

There are a couple of threads here, but yeah nothing definitive. With dyno numbers, there never are, of course.
The car clearly puts down more than 302. On-the-road estimates based on weight and acceleration indicate somewhere in the 320-330 range, roughly 10% over the rating. To me, the most impressive behavior is that the M35i puts down the power so reliably. The LSD front diff and adaptive rear drive are truly impressive. In a safe place, at a standstill, turn the wheel to full lock and then floor it. Be sure to hang on tight because you'll get 300+ hp pushing you in a 30-foot circle. In my experience, not a lot of cars do that. Bottom line, enjoy. |
