Wife's new X2 2.0D Xdrive. Absolutely lovely!

We're having some weekend, collected an M3 Comp same day!

PS hardly seen any on the road but oddly, another white passed us on the road with a toot of the horn and a wave!

PPS It might be my optimism but to my eyes the panels gals and fit are really really excellent on the X2. The bonnet fitment is the best I think I've seen on an F chassis.

I'm not a fan of white but you're either a good photographer or it's actually grown on me with the X2. Nice car either way! I'm going to try to get one for my wife soon. I'm waiting to see the M35i pricing first and then decide.

Haha, certainly not a great photographer but somehow that front 3/4 angle is a very flattering shot.

I must say I'm really impressed with this little car, it's has a deceptive amount of space, yet from the outside cleverly looks like and amp'd up hatch back rather than SAV/SUV platform like the X1. Wife has really taken to it and the kids prefer to the M3, pffft

Nice set you've got there. I've got my eye on that X2M, seems like a good platform

If it's not capable of sub-7 minutes on the Ringpiece, no-one's really interested . Also, as this is the 2.0d and that car ins't available in the USA, very few will have an opinion all told, I'm afraid.

Personally, I like the car a lot, much more than I thought I would, but I absolutely loathe diesel. YMMV, or it certainly used to!

I'm downunder where we do get the M Sport without the grey bits! I'm tempted by white, but I wish there was a metallic version (even at extra cost).

Did you go with the black leather, or is that the alcantara/cloth?

Black Dakota leather.

It's very nice with the perforated finish in areas. I've also sat in the cloth Alcantara and if it were not for the kids we might have gone for that, IMO it actually looks better, more contrast and sportier look and feel.

I'm still trying to decide on exterior paint, and interior leather colours! Exterior - between Misano Blue and Galvanic Gold (and possibly orange)...

Interior - very keen on the Oyster leather (as I'm not getting sunroof I need some brightness).... otherwise the black leather with blue stitching.

And then there's the trim choices

I've ordered but only for Jan build...so perhaps too much time to think.

cheers

That's a long wait, good luck with the selection. Pics when you collect

Well I finally locked in the order... Mineral Grey, with black dakota leather (with blue stitch), and Anthracite Aluminium trim.

Went from Gold to Blue and finally settled on the grey. Now it's locked and I can't make further changes.

Great choice tang will look excellent.

Wife's X2 continues to perform flawlessly. It's perfect family sized for is, love it.

Congratulations on the purchase! It's beautiful! Do you have any interior photos?

Anyway, this car is a blast to drive. I've had an opportunity to test drive it at my dealership a week ago. It was a 20d with an M sport package. I was blown away with how lively this thing felt. I mean my 320d xdrive with 6MT is no slouch, but this one felt like a mini rocket.

Do you know perhaps if 2019 X2s have a new biturbo version of a 2.0d engine that will also be offered in G20?

Lovely looking motors, especially the X2

Looking at getting mine in a couple of weeks and would really welcome your honest view of the ride on 20's for your x2 plus the mpg you're getting from the 20d motor?

Hi telboy,

They're obviously two very different handling cars. With the M3 being mine, I've got limited time in the X2 to pass judgement but I'd from a passengers perspective the ride is perfectly fine on the 20s, very good. Do bear in mind my last few cars have been 'Ms' but to me its forgiving ride. MPG on our XDrive 2.0D is averaged at 40...but the wife only des very short trips. I achieved a 56 driving 46 miles to Manchester!! However I was going for it in Eco Pro mode, probably 50 would have been realistic.

I would say I am hugely impressed by the value of the X2, its a cracking package overall. I don't know how they managed to keep so much room (from the X1) but made it look so much better (than the X1).

Many thanks for the feedback, much appreciated and understood.

I'm coming from cars such as Audi S lines although have had a few M sport BMW's in the past.

Funny thing is, I was always looking for a car not as high a the traditional SUV, although higher up than say a 3 series in terms of seating position. This mainly due to recent back surgery.

I had tried SUV's like the new XC40, however came out of that after 6 months as it was frankly so unreliable and I just couldn't get on with the drive/seat position.

The X2 seems a great compromise for someone like me that wants a slightly higher drive position but with the handling and near sportiness of a good hatch back style car.

Very nice pair, Chris. I have yet to pass another X2 on the road in the Washington, D.C. area.

550 mile range!

It was showing 550 but I drove from the petrol station to stop and take this pic. Full tank of Diesel, not bad for the little X.
