Twitchy acceleration at low revs

Hi,

I've got a problem with my 2016 F48 (25D, ~64k miles)

Quite often accelerating from neutral pedal position or from very gently pressed pedal, it lags to respond. Sometimes it happens from standstill, sometimes while trying to accelerate driving with none or very minor push on the pedal.

I've tried to do the transmission adaptation reset with the 'ignition on -> hold accelerator -> ignition off -> wait...and it seemed to work once, but the problem returned in a day. I've also tried resetting transmission adaptations in ISTA+ with little effect.

I got the ENET cable and checked the errors on ISTA+.

The solenoid error is due to a broken spring within the shifter (known issue - will try to fix it someday).

Can this problem be due to the oxygen sensor ? Any other potential issues? Any other software I could use to get more info ?

A MAF sensor out of spec would cause the problem but you are getting oxygen sensor warnings which could affect fuel mixture. These engines are always trying to manage emissions, with an exhaust sensor gone open circuit it could be causing havoc in engine management. EGR valve is also a regularly reported issue on early f48 2.0d and 2.5DF, many owners got replacement and software update which solved problem.
Only other suggestions, especially if you are getting the odd misfire, is intake manifold but your are missing any fault codes for genuine air/fuel issues.

Had exactly the same symptoms , ended up being the EGR valve, the car was out of warranty but BMW covered the cost of the part and I paid labour. Ours is a 2016 20D X drive, so engine is the same ( common problem I believe)

X1 engine stops

I also have the same problems with my X1 2017. At slow speed (<40MPH), it jerks and stalls. The engine stops as soon as i release the break to go to reverse. The mechanics did clean out the carbon deposits, change out the spark plugs and oxygen sensor. But the issue still exist.

I'm curious to see how to fix this problem. Please give advice if you have any experience with this issue.

Mine doesn't stall - it just jerks at lower rpms. Sometimes while trying to move, sometimes doing 60mph at low revs and pressing the pedal.

Booked an appointment at a repair shop - will let you know how it goes

For anyone who is having issues when initially turning the car on, check that there isn't a malfunction with your secondary exhaust flap. If it's stuck in an open position, it will cause the car to "flutter" and sometimes stall if you attempt to take it out of park before it has warmed up.
