Thats the tough part, he's trying to import this as a company vehicle (for his chauffeur to drive him and his clients around). He is technically an expat (lived there 5 yrs) but i believe the Gov't sees Taiwanese expats a bit differently than if you go in with a US Passport. Hmm. He had a chinese made Buick but the thing burned down on the highway and the manufacturer admits no fault at all.

I guess I'll have to relay the message over to let him know.

On the other side of things, we researched and found a profit margin of $100-150k RMB if a used german vehicle can be brought in, registered and resold. But theres a regulation stating that if the car is imported personally, it cannot be resold for 12 months

Your customs broker, do they charge reasonable pricing? I realized, that most if not all brokers who charge OUTRAGEOUS service charges are basically using a part of that as a kickback for the customs... This is not just for cars, but pretty much for everything you want to import into China.

Its a great car to drive in, so smooth and comfortable...........though the e90/92 is even better to drive.
