All in all I think entertaining is a fair description of the Ferrari vs Ford film, an ideal film for the masses and non car people.

Yeah, for non-car folk, I think it's a great film. Those things just niggle far too much for me though, and I can't see past them

[QUOTE=///M Power-Belgium;26122542]Regarding Le Mans and the "Belgian Jacky Ickx" :

The performance of the Belgian Jacky Ickx is actually legendary. "He won Le Mans 6 times " !
=> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacky_Ickx

24 hours of Le Mans victories :

• 1969 – Jacky Ickx (Ford GT-40)
• 1975 – Jacky Ickx (Mirage GR8)
• 1976 – Jacky Ickx (Porsche 936)
• 1977 – Jacky Ickx (Porsche 936)
• 1981 – Jacky Ickx (Porsche 936)
• 1982 – Jacky Ickx (Porsche 956)

It is interesting at the start of the trailer that Jacky says he never wanted to be a racing driver. It seems then he entered racing with some reluctance.
*By the way my friend I received my leatherique and I've treated a seat with it!
Waiting ''24hrs'' for it to do its thing..like they do at Le Mans!!!

Second trailer shows the onboard speed (unreal) Jacky was a very intelligent driver .

I'm not sure it's warm enough outside (here it is not) Waiting "48hrs" would be better .
My friend .Let me know what you think of it , once you're done

It takes a fearless person to do those speeds like Jacky did..how he overcame his reluctance to race is mind boggling.

It is warm and sunny here,21C so can still use the car, if I have to, while the passenger seat is curing. I chickened out and applied it with latex gloves

I got the 250ml bottle which for me seems enough for a few applications,so easy to spread it around, generally to the main sections where it's exposed to contact and sunlight.

No chicane on the Mulsanne then, what was Jacky's speed there I would say around 220mph...

Jacky Ickx said when he stopped racing : "It's a miracle that I'm still alive" !

Don't find much about his top speed , but I found this :

Roger Dorchy is the most famous person to race at Le Mans you’ve never heard of. On June 11, 1988, the Frenchman recorded the highest top speed ever seen on the epic Mulsanne Straight: 405kph, which is 251mph. His car was a WM-Peugeot.

Worth noting though, that the WM Peugeot was built and entered to set that record, and never stood a chance (nor was intended to) of winning the race. The second car retired at 22 laps, and Dorchy's car spent 3.5h in the pits before setting the record. Still, it's a crazy speed!

In a speed test a TGV reached 357mph that's just under 575kph
For safety and passenger comfort they keep to the much lower limit.

Also look up Grand Prix, it has some great 1960s F1 racing along with a love story

The cinematography is so late 60s early 70s.

There's that irritating - at least to a car person - movie cliche that so many film makers seem to feel the need to use. The hero/protagonist is in a chase or a race, and the bad guy/rival pulls alongside him; the hero looks over at the rival menacingly, then shoves the shifter forward - or yanks it back - and guns the throttle. The revs go up about 3k RPMs and he speeds away. It's usually accompanied by a quick camera shot of his foot jamming a throttle to the floor. It's cartoonish and horribly cliched.

Exactly! As if the pedal wouldn't be somewhere near the floor at 200+mph anyhow!
