Ford vs Ferrari was a hoot to watch. Very enjoyable, I've seen it twice and I'll probably watch it again.

I found it to be a well made film though the best bit I found was Enzo telling Henry Ford's assistant what he thought of his deal of a tie up between Ferrari and Ford. That was indeed classic

I would suspect the OP is talking about:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Mans_(film)

with Steve McQueen

No, this one was shot last year with Christian Bale and Matt Damon and I believe it's called 'Ford vs Ferrari' in America.
I've seen the earlier Le Mans one with Steve McQueen which was good too.

Sheesh. Yes it is 'Ford vs. Ferrari' (US title), retitled for the Brit and Euro audiences apparently. Took me a while to figure it out.

Yeah I think you'll like it. It may be a bit bolshi acting for some and I actually much prefer the Steve McQueen version without all the politics just the hard core racing.

I've seen it twice already. The racing scenes are done with actual cars, no CGI. They're impressive.

I agree that the McQueen movie is better though. I think that is the greatest racing movie ever made.

My biggest takeaway from the movie is THANK GOD FORD DIDN'T BUY FERRARI. Ford are still manufacturing shit boxes whole Ferrari it's still... Ferrari.
Second biggest is that Miles was a god!

I didn't know about how he didn't win Le Mans and why McLaren did. Injustice hurts.

Regarding Le Mans and the "Belgian Jacky Ickx" :

The performance of the Belgian Jacky Ickx is actually legendary. "He won Le Mans 6 times " !

• 1969 – Jacky Ickx (Ford GT-40)
• 1975 – Jacky Ickx (Mirage GR8)
• 1976 – Jacky Ickx (Porsche 936)

Who can forget the great Jackie Ickx my friend to complete the 66-69 LM clean sweep for the GT-40 to further crush Ferrari's hopes.
I am watching the Grand Prix film now starring James Garner.

I found it entertaining, but somebody needs to tell the producer(s) that downshifts are exciting too. And other such fast and furious style nonsense. 6/10, may watch again some day. Great story though!

^ They don't make them like Katzin or Frankenheimer did anymore..McQueen playing the fictional driver Delaney showing that unassailable coolness that he also portrayed as a police lieutenant in Bullitt.
