Air Temperature Sensor wires torn
Hey Guys,
First time posting and I need some advice. My temperature has been reading inaccurately and showing -40C outside temperature error and other times just the wrong temperature with frequent noise dings to notify me. This has become quite annoying and the dealership told me my ambient air temperature sensor wires are ripped because i must have hit something on the bottom of my car? It's a 2014 335 xdrive thats a lease but unfortunately it is not covered they said. Has anyone had this problem before? Also I'm considering changing it myself since they want to charge me 340$. Anybody know how easy it is to DIY? Where I can find original parts? Thanks for the help |

Hi,
Ive also got the same problem. I was wondering where the location of the sensor would be or a DIY guide on how to do it. Theres some videos on youtube with the e46 model |

We had this issue on the 2013 328i last summer. The sensor is snapped into the triangular recess in the left (driver's side) deflector lip AKA front fender liner extension. See my post from last summer:
