Not everybody likes steak, and not everybody can afford it either. The world is big enough for Wendy’s and McDonalds, and some people love them.

My point is this, in a market of cute crossovers with shitty driving dynamics, the X2 will stand out on driving merits, if nothing else. Yes it doesn’t handle as well as a longitudinally arranged classic RWD BMW drivetrain, but it will still be quite better than anything else in that slice of market.

So for those who are shopping for this stuff, it will be an excellent offering. And if you like the classic BMW fare, you always have the option to buy that. Why make a stink about it?

No matter what you eat, it still comes out the same way, in the crapper.

Agree totally, most small SUV have a certain cute appeal which, personally, I’m not a fan of... even the new Jag e Pace looks far too cute! This car looks mean & aggressive and SHOULD set the driving benchmark for its class!! If the interior quality is right up there and it drives as well as a fwd car can, then it’ll be a winner! RWD purists buy a G20 or a 2 coupe... plenty of people will want this !!

You are making an assumption that this vehicle will drive better than its competitors. You are making opinion a fact, bad way to start.

This entry filed by BMW in the 'WIPO Global Design Database' published on the public WIPO website looks related to the X2.

I’ve driven the X1 in whatever sportiest offering (M Sport?) as well as the GLA and Q3, it’s no contest. Even though I liked the handling on the X1 less than that of its predecessor (which I’ve owned), it was still better than the Audi and Merc.

So all the X2 has to do is not be worse than the X1... my opinion of course.

I drove X1 and while exterior is nice, interior screams cheap and plain, not even close to a BMW standard (even previous X1). Driving experience of Toyota corrola with slightly harder steering.
Since the difference between X1&2 will be slope of the roof, this car is no good.

Seen the car IRL and looks very very good, although I didn't like it from the pictures. It's a chic shape, more slanted and rounder than the X1.

What I'm trying to convey is that they still drive less than desirable for a BMW, regardless of being better than the competition. Being the best of the worst is not something to brag about. This is a segment that falls outside of your normal BMW client who understands vehicle performance and driving dynamics. This new segment is to capture low hanging fruit to come just for the brand sake.

Lol at penguin hate

BMW - We're first! vs @penquino - no you're worst!

What do they call first place ? Champion !

I've no idea why a car sales company would want to bring more customers into the fold
