Hmmm , how much time do you need for 1 or 2 men job , to change the springs on xdrive F30 ?
I'm on m-packed , oem 19 359M's and i have both HR supersport and HR sport springs for F30 in my garage , which is not use anyway. So I CAN PROBABLY install both an be a genuie pig for all on this forum who is on xdrive and make all the photos. I have some folks from rally team who are in big favour to me , so if it's 1 day job to remove the oem xdrives one and put HR twice. I can do this. P.S. I believe the front diff is the problem , it's should be lower than some limit , in order not to be damaged ? Vad |

Vad, if you have the time and the parts then why not. As you saw from a different person on this thread, running HR SS hasn't been a problem so far for him. Personally, as far as springs, I am more interested in the HR Sport springs as you can run them longer before your struts start to degrade..another reason Im only doing the OEM Sport Springs with the xdrive until HR come out with xdrive specific springs or I switch to coil overs. |

Also, the M Performance suspension is not indicated as compatible with xDrive cars even without M Adaptive dampers. The reasons why (and whether it would work anyway) are debated at length in many threads on these forums : )

I didn't feel like waiting for the previous posters response, so I went ahead and called the HQ of H&R which surprisingly is housed locally. Got connected directly with a rep and they said that it is still in the works for the X-drive models. No ETA or any information on progress.
So there is it, just keep waiting...I know I will. |

Do we even have a reason for BMW not offering a sport suspension on x-drive? I've heard a lot of possibilities from simply higher ride height for snow clearance to more technical things ie. CV joint wear, etc. I emailed BMW NA but got a response that I should check with my dealership because BMW NA does not have any technical data... Practically, I had non-xdrive Zsp springs and Bilsteins on my E90 xdrive without any issues. I'd love to get a tighter setup on my F30.

After putting oem f30 sport springs on my 335xi m sport (DHP/adaptive) and driving for ~1000km I've had no problems whatsoever and the stance looks normal versus the 4x4 look. Also a definite improvement with less body roll. We'll see how it looks when I finally get my summer wheels on in a couple weeks (hurry up EAS!)

I also think of putting OEM non xdrive springs to xdrive. Do non xdrive springs have the same wheel alignment angles as xdrive? So you simply swap them and drive away without re-aligning the wheels? Last edited by Serybmw; 05-25-2013 at 01:04 PM.. |

As far as the alignment, not totally sure. The guy I paid to do the springs had it aligned afterward and everything was ship-shape. |

Here's the "after" oem sport spring install..don't have a great before shot that shows the higher gap..but I can tell visually and when I sit in the car. Still on winter wheels..
