I guess, but honestly it doesn't matter to me, I'm just glad you can still get a stick shift in a 911, thats something we don't have the privilege of saying anymore for most cars and soon won't be able to say at all.

You make it trough the line first but with no feel/ connection, and wonder is that all, just like M cars verses RS Audi's it is more than just straight line speed if you into driving, figures are last of your worries.

So I think the novelty of Tesla being the drag king has about worn off. It's really a one trick pony.

I've said it before, the EV has no soul. It's like comparing an Apple watch to a Rolex, the Apple watch keeps better time and does all kinds of things the Rolex (or most mechanical watches for that matter) doesn't.

But the Rolex has a soul, moving parts and beautiful. It will last for generations and it's something you want to own. The Tesla like the Apple watch will be tossed when the next version becomes available.

This is just my opinion but give me my Rolex and Air Cooled Porsche all day any day.

Can't stand the new tail lights and the embedded lettering on the current gen Porsche cars.

Built one online and it came out to $217k

Front end does nothing for, like the rear end though. I've always been a fan of 911 Turbos, but that stopped at the 997.

I mean yes and no. Modern 911s, particularly carreras, are a really sanitized experience. It seems like with each successive generation carreras and turbos are getting softer and softer, to the point where I personally feel that the 911 Turbo is really just a Carrera Turbo. It's not very engaging and clearly directed at a more comfortable, traditional GT experience. SO yeah, I think we're getting to a situation where engineers are making a lot of ICE cars provide an experience that closer and closer to a fast EV.

For me, unless I was really interested in having a turbo and only a turbo, I don't have any real interest. Something that prioritizes more the driving experience like the GT cars (911 or even cayman) has my attention more than the turbo.

The 911's are definitely becoming more GT cars, very good cars, but definitely bigger, heavier, and less engaging. I think the Cayman/Boxster has stolen some of the thunder from the 911, at least the Flat-Six models when it comes to fun factor, but I feel like Porsche is purposely trying to hold the 718 back so it doesn't fully step on the 911's toes too much, since the 911 is the brand's halo car. If it were me, I'd likely take a Boxster/Cayman GTS 4.0 over a 992 Carrera, but if I could have a GT3, that'd be the one to get.

The configurator for the Turbo/Turbo S hasn't been updated from the 991.2 model yet lol

Yes it has, you can configure either the 992 Turbo which is under "The new 911 Turbo" and the 991.2 Turbo is also still available to configure.

Not that I can afford one but why is there no Targa Turbo?

For those that thinks a current Tesla can beat it, you are partially wrong. Tesla can only do one ludicrous mode and then slows down for each additional run. All Porsches can do it repeatedly until it runs out of fuel or electricity.

Just imagine the massive depreciation on this thing. The $217k doesn't include taxes that would be another $14k or so.

Bingo! These will be great cars 3-4 years down the road when they can be had for mid/low $100ks. I think then you start getting folks who are willing/able to "stretch" from their brand new M4 optioned at $90k or a new M5 at $110k.

The Turbo gets a lot of crap for not being as exciting and raw as the GT cars, but IMO it's a perfect second car when you have your raw, track-focused toy already.

I have heard the drive feel on the 992 is remarkably better than the 991, but still no GT, but that's kind of the point...

Also heard they'll be creating a more raw, stripped down version (NOT the GT2, something in-between) which I'm eagerly awaiting.

If I hit the lottery a de-badged, all-black 911 Turbo S would be my everyday car. Low profile enough to not draw too much attention, and not so special I couldn't bring it anyplace. Just this afternoon I built this car... It was $240k.
