Rattling noise from upper right rear seat belt area
Hi all, when I am driving over roads that are not smooth, I hear a rattle coming from the upper right rear area where the seat belt comes out.
Has anyone experience this ? Any tips to remedy this issue ? |

Notoriously hard to identify without sitting in the car with a stethoscope-type device. But my first guess is the hatch cover. Make sure it is fitted the right way around and is properly clipped in.

Also, if you have the warning triangle, which in my X1 is held in a red container that is in turn clipped into the rear tailgate, be sure to check it isn't that or the triangle itself which is rattling.
Another potential is if the tailgate bump stops aren't correctly adjusted from the factory, it can rattle - as I found after taking delivery of mine. I eventually managed to cure that issue by checking from the online owners manual. Here's the link for my UK version (fourth line down), but it may be a different for yours: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...e-catch-locks/ The source of any rattles such as you describe can be notoriously difficult to identify. |

I had the same issue with my X2 and took it back to the dealer to fix. Not sure what it was, but they sorted it in about an hour under warranty and it hasn't made any noise since.
