MPG and Range Display
My question is this, how accurate is the MPG and Range display, and what is the true size of the X1's fuel Tank? There are various figures on the internet and they vary by quite a lot. BMW's site states approx 61 liters.
Filled up today -range left was showing 55 miles, miles covered 391, on filling up 44 liters the range then showed 528 with the full tank, and average MPG showed 42.1. This is within a decimal point of what was showing MPG for all of the last tank full. Was there another 17 liters (3.74Galls) left in the tank, that being the case I should have been able to cover 157 miles further (not the 55 miles left the display showed) which would be a total 548 miles on the Tank of fuel. This figure would then be near the 528 range showing on full tank. 61 liters = 13.43 Galls - Times say 42 mpg = 564 miles range. To me these figures do not add up. |

The 20D's tank is only 51litres - in the UK at least it's only the 20i (Petrol) that gets the 61litre tank. You can't even spec it as an extra, which is annoying.
The MPG on the trip computer seems fairly honest (Compared to actual fill-to-fill results), which is more than can be said for my previous car, a Volkswagen - now there's a surprise |
