After driving the new X1 (B48) for a few days now, I am almost certain it does not have active sound. I could be wrong but had it on my 2014 328i and it was noticeable as compared to earlier cars with the same n20 engine and no active sound. It actually had a decent sound when under load. I wish the x1 did have active sound but unless it is the faintest sound, I really don't think it's present in the new X1.

Which model f48 did you get? Wonder if there's a way to add it in later?

I have the only engine available in the U.S., the 2.0 petrol engine.

I have started doing some coding in the new X1 and can confirm that I could find no Active Sound Module listed in the module list.

Real bummer no idea why they talk about it in the engine.pdf in technical section.

I coded everything to enable the sounds but noticed no difference. By doing the coding, I was able to get the menu under settings called "Mini Sounds" and then the option for four different engine sounds. I tried this several different ways but had no luck in getting the difference in sound.
