Hi all, my new X1 finally arrived on Friday. Just had a chance to go for a good 100 mile run yesterday in the North Yorkshire moors. The new X1 is fantastic and I've certainly wiped out all my reservations after moving from the F30 320d m sport after 2 years..

First impressions the car drives really well, steering feels light and decisive. Power is enough for us although doesn't feel as fast or quite as dynamic as my old 320d. Obviously the higher driving position gives much better visability, this coupled with the fantastic HUD it really feels like I've upgraded in a car that is going to be modern and current for the next 10 years.. BMW have moved their game on in terms of car technology. The panoramic roof is fantastic and highly recommended if you can afford it. Ultimately I bought this car for future practicality and the ability to carry our bikes if we wanted to go away somewhere.. so the X1 beats my old 3 series hands down in all those departments.

Very happy with the deal I got from my local BMW dealership and choice of car. This was an exceptionally high spec nearly new ex demo dealer launch car! Just with 2300 demo miles this car would be over £41k list but I got it for only £32K. Ok its a Oct 15 (65) plate and it will be 16 registration plate here in the UK very soon. But that cash saving was too good to turn down!

Really happy with the colour too I think most new X1's seem to be Black, White or Grey (Usual BMW colours) but silver seems less popular now. Its a really nice clean cut business like colour. I was torn between this and Platinum silver and Atlantic Grey in the end this particular cars spec did it for me... Had to go for that panoramic roof!!

Congratulations

One question, how does the pano roof open? I have ordered it on my wife's F48 but do not know if it just tilts up or opens and slides back like on our A Class?

Hi thanks, yes the pano roof can do both it tilts and slides back open (to half the roof) whichever you prefer..

Makes 3! I also have Glacier Silver xDrive xLine 20d with 18" Y Spoke 566and I think Silver classic and looks good against the black vents etc.

Also ordered it in glaciersilver. Same rims 511 19".
But mine will be the Sport version instead of xLine, so it will have black grills and some other black accents instead of silver. Delivery in June.

Regret not ordering the 511 19 rims. They look great but unfortunatly having suffered with my current 18s on the E92 on Greek roads decided to play it safe and go with the 18s part of the sports package. It's strange that most of the deliveries are delayed until June. Guess in greece we are a bit lucky as the waiting time is max 5 weeks. Ordered mine 2 weeks ago and within 4 days it went to production. Delivery expected latest 15 March!!! Hopefully.
