I have an X1 f48 2020 XLine UK model.

Last 7 characters of VIN - 5R30071

Maps - EUROPE Way 2023-1 M19*****

I've had the same message come up as one of the recent posters saying CarPlay is supported but to reset. This came up only once when my live traffic services subscription lapsed and this message showed up the first time I drove the car. I thought it was a glitch as it also showed Baidu CarLife but wanted to check if it was something I could get working. CarPlay doesn't show up as standard and I haven't seen anything else since.

I've attached the photo I took when it happened. This message has only come up once.

Any help getting CarPlay working would be greatly appreciated.

I installed the Andream MMI CarPlay box on my F48 NBT entrynav. Sound quality is pretty good. Installation took patience but it all worked well.

Hi, had the same message in mine. I have spoken to BMW they did not know what to say, however they have confirmed apple CarPlay is not possible in my car.

Is Carplay actually possible on Entry nav 2 🫣 so many people discussing it and I have tried but no joy, spoke with a friend of a friend who is a tech at BMW and he says he doesn’t think possible on WAY maps but I think it is 😓

Can be done without problems as long as headunit has WLAN port

Thanks for confirming mate - are you aware of a software update could be required to get CarPlay? I have tried many times and even had it done remotely, initially everything was fine but nothing had actually changed, no CarPlay showing!

When I connected remotely, a guy coded 6CP and told me to run feature installed again but now the software just comes back saying it can’t talk to head unit and process ends 😒 He has said he doesn’t know what to suggest and I may need to take to dealer for software update?
Forgive me as I’m new to all this but trying my best - I tried doing the USB update, not sure if it’s the same thing but that won’t work either, just keep getting that the software is not suitable for the car 😒 just facing problem after problem, any advice is much appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻

Wow this is same case and same version than I have! Spent months digging into it with no result. Did you get any answer about it ? I would really appreciate any info

You cannot have OEM CarPlay using just stock Head Unit. You can add aftermarket CP/AA HMI Box that works with stock Head Unit, or do an OEM Head Unit Upgrade.
