Unpopular opinion:
If your friend is happy with the guy, and even pulled away from YOU to stay with him, couldn’t this be a case of you thinking he should behave differently with others because of your personal morals? Nobody is bad or good fully. Opinions such as “he’s an asshole, therefore shouldn’t be hired” is complex to understand. So what, is he going to starve to death as punishment? Everybody is somebody’s asshole. The questions here are: - is he good at what he does? - could he be a good fit for your company, regardless of performance (culturally)? - would you feel ok dealing with this person daily? - would your friend approve or disapprove of the hire? (I assume approve, as she’d benefit from his earnings as they live together) |
