I also had that idea in my head, but just decided to leave it. I know at least one person locally with an X1 that did the straight pipe in the same location.. I believe he also ended up deleting the mufflers eventually.

Hmm very interesting.. although I'm used to the way it drives.. I might like to hear a bit more how that adjustment affects the car before I muck with it. Did you ever go blasting around on map2 with the JB4 intake yet? Ever get it to go to failsafe mode? I realize it may be super cold and inconvenient to try.

I think mine goes all the way down to 4 degrees of timing in map2 .. whoop loaded a bunch of mine and it even went down to 0/1 a few times. I haven't taken a log lately, I just turned on the jb4 app and looked through the last few runs.

Aisin released an even higher torque model recently. Kinda says that they didn’t think so to me.

I have always wondered about the ASIN myself and using the JB4 was always a chance.
If we actually got real numbers on max threshold and if I had to remove the JB4 I would do so. I just hope it goes to our favor with JB4 increased power and torque because it is wonderful on map 2. |

It would be a bad design if it couldn't handle 20% over

The tuner code is probably due to your intake. |

FYI FWIW -
The latest firmware with the setting 70 recommended - well... let me tell you, that I've been driving the car lately and I highly doubt that it is in my head, but the car overall seems to be even more of a demon, even in vast temperature changes. DO IT. |

Sounds like fun! I'm not sure what "default" settings were, nor have I seen the menu for our car. The N54 cars had a problem with the wastegates rattling as the cars got older, so there was rpm tuning to "open" or decrease that number at low speeds so the rattle would be better. I had "thought" that it was default at 80 and people were turning it down. I don't know what 70 means for this car. Certainly if the wastegate is closer to "shut" at 100 then it builds boost pretty darned fast. I'm tempted to mess around, but still a bit lazy to reflash and play around. Now a days it's just get up and go to work without much time to goof off with the car.

Yes I experienced spikes before, but that will settle down pretty fast. This is pretty much what was causing the JB4 to go into failsafe mode. Please do take lots of pictures of the supersprint pipe! (and cost would be great) From what I gather the front will go on, but you'd have to chop the mid pipe and use a slip clamp. Should be easy enough DIY at home on my quickjack!
