any Apple product is going to have limited functionality. I've learned this the hard way. If you buy their products you gotta work their way or there's going to be a lot of head aches.

I don't think the iPad can be used in a professional environment just yet. More for leisure and entertainment than productivity.

The only device that has ever lost sync with my email was a blackberry. every single blackberry that i've owned. i've lost count how many times i had to re-run Enterprise Activation or call AT&T and have them push the service book to my blackberry because it forgot everything, except how to make calls. this has happened countless times with every single blackberry that i've owned, and i've owned many of them. Strangely enough this has never happened with my iPhones 3/3Gs/4.

Second battery? Pfft. My iPhone4 holds charge all day just fine with BT, WiFi and Push notifications turned on. Yes, its at about 20% charge around 6-7pm, but by that time i am either home, or in the car, where i can charge it for 15 minutes to last me till the end of the day.

Yes, we understand that you hate everything, except blackberry. Perhaps you should check out MySpace. All the cool kids are using it....

Never had much of an issue with emails not syncing with my Blackberry. However, it doesnt mean I haven't had issues with the service itself. BBM? Don't get me started.

The only thing that used to bother me about my old iPhone was that it had to go and grab new emails every 15 minutes. It wasn't instant, and at the time it was incredibly annoying. But now that Im back in the States, it wouldnt be that much of an issue. That, and iOS email has gotten a lot better.

For me, it's more about do I really want to dump $500+ on an item with limited functionality. Especially since I've been getting by just fine without it. They are cool, but I'll keep my money until whoever has the best one decides its time to open it up. Really, a USB port surely wasn't impossible to put on it. (ipad)

In the end, it is a tribute to Apple's great marketing. Anyone big in marketing knows that products serve to fulfill needs. If you don't have a need that your product fulfills, you create a need. So far, I have been convinced that I don't have that need.
I have discovered that not having a USB port isn't that big of a deal. I've found work around, like the app mentioned in a quote below, Dropbox.

If you must have a USB (for whatever reason)

And you own a multiple Bimmer's stop being cheap
That accessory ONLY works with cameras, not thumbdrives.

And then there is Dropbox. Save the file into Dropbox (yes, iPad lets you do that) and it magically appears on all of your computers/iPads/iPhones/Android devices.

BEST APP EVER! And its FREE!!! I have it on my Blackberry, iPad, laptop and desktop. Its a great way to transfer files from the iPad to other devices.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying I'm not able to find a work around or alternate method.

I'm saying if I'm paying for it, I shouldn't have to. That's all.

Coincidentally, I can't wait for the Samsung Galaxy S 2 to come out in the US. I just hope they don't muck it up from the original over these past 4 months.

What is the best case + screen protector for the iPad 2? And by best I mean I want a case that is very rugged and will completely protect it (like my Otterbox Defender case for my iPhone - see below). I've heard that the build quality is very poor on the iPad 2 Defender case, so that's why I am looking for an alternative. Also what about a good screen protector? I have a really nice matte one on my iPhone that doesn't get much finger smudges and it also removes glare.

I scored a super cheap Android-powered 7" tablet from 1saleaday.com for $75. I'm not expecting it to be anything great, or good for that matter. I just wanted something to tinker with from the Android world. It only runs Froyo at the moment. I've messed with Honeycomb before, I liked it a lot. This thing I just got is, well, 'slow' would be a great way to describe it, lol. 'Cheap' would be another, lol.

Ive had the wifi samsung galaxy 10.1 32gb for three weeks now. It gets better and better the more I play with it. I use pdanet to bluetooth 4g internet with my evo phone when necessary in the streets. The bonus headphones sound good too. The only con is the lag when typing wich should be fixed in the next update.

I just recently purchased a factory refurbished Nook Color, rooted it to run Cyanogenmod 7, which is Android 2.3 (gingerbread), overclocked it to 925MHz (its capable of up to 1.2GHz) and I couldnt be happier. When it comes down to it, I just got a great Android tablet for under $200. Sure the iPad has it all, but I think a 7" tablet is the perfect size for everyday use.

Even NFL teams are starting to give players iPads instead of a traditional playbook.

iPad 2...use it all the time even while I travel for business. I connect via my iPad through LogMeIn and control my PC notebook in the office. No need to travel with a Windows notebook anymore and my computer bag is a lot lighter.

I was using a Samsung Galaxy(1st Gen) for work. It was good for work as it was flash ready and did the basic tasks(email, address book etc.). As for entertainment it had it's own playback of different formats but not many apps available compared to the iPad and no netflix. I would buy a iPad if i were to buy a tablet.

I picked up a HP Touchpad. I'm typing this on my Touchpad right now actually! I love this thing, it has almost completely replaced my laptop. I'm in KY on business atm and left my lappy at home with no regrets.

Love my ipad 2. Use it very often. Its great for games, especially puzzle, and tower defense type ones. crazy good battery life

My biggest gripe is that the camera connection kit doesn't let you edit GoPro HD video in 1080p, it doesn't even see them in iMovie
