Hi, got my new X1 xDrive25e (2021 model) and of course the Apple CarPlay pack wasn't possible to buy from the ConnectedDrive portal.
In the BMW website in Sweden (where I live) the option Apple CarPlay Preparation (6CP) wasn't presented (found it later in the long pricelist), and the reseller told me it could be added later. I have the 6UP nav (probably the EntryNav2 though).

So as everyone else lately in this thread I'm wondering if it is possible to activate in someway. My VIN is 5S47148

Hi, I've been reading through all the "carplay" posts with great interest and had been considering installing an android head with acp until I read it's possible on some factory units! I have checked and I think it is possible to activate it on my vehicle:
BMW F48 09/20, 5J94727, 6UN and road map(way). Is it possible and how do I activate it?

Hi All, This is my first post. I started following this group 2 months ago when I bought my BMW. Its a second hand X1 F48 11/2017 model. I must admit this forum helped me to understand many things about my car which I had no prior knowledge. Thanks to such a wonderful and knowledgeable people of this forum
I have 2 queries:
I would like to know about the options to enable apple car play in my car. I do not have car play option in my connecteddrive. Its not possible according to BMW. Is there a way to still enable this feature in my car? My VIN - ED62675. Also is it possible to retrofit 8.8 CID in the car. Currently I have 6.5 touch screen.
I appreciate any help and guidance in these 2 queries.

Hi all, I recently purchased an X1 F48 and BMW have advised that I can't retrofit Apple Car Play. I have Navigation Plus 6UP, 6NW, 6WD and 610. VIN number: 5P36050. I'm based in the UK.

Can anyone help with a solution?

Hi,
You need to check if your headunit has WLAN Port.
Simply disassemble and check if you have Purple Port next to the yellow one. If yes, you have WLAN connector and CarPlay could be activated. Usually UK spec cars have this connector - based on my experience.

It's possible if you have E-Sys.

You need E-Sys and an ENET Cable, to read ENTRYNAV2 Firmware, and to see which HWEL it is.

One generic question I had, although it isn't really important now - what iDrive do I have (or had, lol)? The Andream carplay unit I got was for NBT (and not CIC), but my car shows entrynav. Is entrynav == NBT?
Also, how are the terms 'Head Unit' and 'iDrive' related? Are they the same?

ENTRYNAV (ROUTE) is the Business version of NBT (NEXT), which is the Professional version.

ENTRYNAV2 (WAY) is the Business version of NBT2 (EVO), which is the Professional version.
