X2 M35 Body Panel Gap
Hi all,
So as we all know, the M35 uses body colored cladding in place of the plastic looking stuff. That's all and well as it does look better in my opinion. However, in examining my car, I noticed a strange body panel gap on the right-hand side of the car (the passenger side). In examining front quarter views of the car, I see this is actually an issue. But, I wanted to run it by the forum to see if anyone has experienced this... I've included an image of the right hand side for reference, too. |

I think the fender is "tucked" along the leading edge. I doubt the factory would have released it like that, so perhaps something hip-checked it, or the metal relaxed somewhat. See how the gap quickly disappears as it reaches the bumper cover? Alignment of fender and trim both look good, just the roll of the outer metal edge.
Looks like a very simple adjustment that any decent body shop can handle. I'd take it to the dealer and ask them to do it, sooner the better. |

Funny enough, my STi had a massive dent on the same area of the car. Not sure how or when it happened. Almost looked like someone kicked it in. |
