space saver spare in BMW X1 2020 xDrive
Hi, I placed a custom order for BMW X1 2020 and was planning to add the space saver spare, there by moving away from run flats. I am getting standard 18" tires. I wanted to know how the fit of the spare tyre in the boot look like in the X1 xDrive. Does it fit sung and will the base cover it properly without causing an uneven floor in the trunk? Would appreciate if anyone has any pictures to share.
P.S: I searched the forum and found only 1 post. But it was for 2016 X1 and a sDrive. So not sure if that applies to 2020 X1 xDrive. https://f48.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1250685 Last edited by ag957; 11-05-2019 at 10:50 AM.. |

18"space saver
I didnt fancy one day/night having to use the tyre repair kit so I purchased a space saver which fits into the bottom area with ease.
I have secured mine with straps unfortunately no images to show. Having a space saver gives me peace of mind hopefully I wont have to use it. |

Your under floor area will have an 8mm receptor for the bolt that holds the donut down and also there will be a bracket at the front of the hold that helps hold the donut down. You should have room for some tools, cleaning materials, etc.

I have a just-delivered 2.0i xDrive with 18in wheels. Ordered a space-saver as a part with jack, jack handle etc. It all fits easily into floor well without affecting the lid. Plenty of room for the original pump and gunk as well, along with the usual gap-fillers like fluorescent jackets. The spacesaver came with a round flat cover which I think was a separate part.
