snow tires are on
Just had the Blizzak LM32s put on. Ride is noticeably better than the oe runflats. I haven't driven hard on it and there is only a hint of snow - nothing to report on other than the ride. I will update as winter happens..

Pirelli Sottozero 3 RFTs installed. 225-50-18 tires on 18x8 wheels.
I think the installer added spacers because the tires are just about flush with the fenders. Looks nice actually. |

The only option for winter OEM wheels are 19" on account of the brakes. BMW wheel style 715M are the only ones that fit. I wanted 18" for my winter set up so I had to go with aftermarket BBS.

What I meant was, how do your 18" bbs wheels differ from 18" oem (BMW) wheels? Are your bbs wheels 18x8.5?

What offset are you guys using? I have found a set of tires/rims locally used and it's pretty aggressive by my calculations. It might be flush or slightly past the fenders. Certainly will look aggressive Pictures of course are totally welcome!

Good to know.. I'm going nuts with an offset of 27.. basically I'm getting a good local deal on a set of squared winter tires and rims. This gives me some confidence for the winter (since the SSR's have a rating of like 3/10 in snow) and I have time to find something I like for the summer. It should push the outside of the tires exactly flush with the body and/or might be slightly past the fenders. I laugh in my head thinking it's going to look like a lifted pickup now, but we'll see. I'll certainly post pictures when I get them on the car. I might hold out a little longer here in Boston though since no impending snow is coming quite yet.

Woo the +27 offset with the 255 tires are pretty aggressive but looks nice. Just to let people know that it does fit. The tires are a few mm past the fenders but it looks quite aggressive, certainly no rubbing etc since the wheel gap is huge on these cars. I put a picture up on one of the other threads.

Do you notice any additional torque steer, or brake steer (same thing, when braking) with this offset? It's a full inch out, which changes the the scrub radius quite a bit.

Agreed... So far haven't noticed anything different, the tires alone are cushier so the ride seems smoother, quieter, and more planted (due to less jarring). Honestly it seems like it handles way better. The only thing I can hear is the slight humm of the aggressive tread when slowing down at maybe 5mph for a split second. The actual calculation is 15.7mm further from the strut on the inside, and 28.4mm poke out from the fender side. This is with a good chunk of my commute on the highway at/above speed.. and 20 minutes local. I'm usually in my car for 1.5 hrs to 2 hrs a day round trip.
