Well I took the plunge and just got this....... not impressed at all TBH

Got the android version as the dongle was cheaper...... only to find that the app cost more than the apple one... so more or less the same overall.

Codings are sparse and truly useless for my needs ( at the moment anyway)

Found a fault code tried to clear it but the app just crashes every time I try to clear it

So for me, I might as well have given the near £90 the the homeless. It would have done more good!

May well get a refund if it can't clear codes ....... unless someone can tell me I'm doing something wrong?

I am having the same problems as you have trying to clear codes...I have emailed & they have said
"Please I need the following fault clearing log
Just start the app - connect – do a diag - clear the faults - now immediately ...
... on Android in the cockpit -> logs -> send log with diag comment " Clearing does not work"
... on iOS under "More" – send session log with comment " Clearing does not work"
Then I can look at this in detail
Thank you very much"
I have only just got the email but will try later tonight...
I am sure the app will add more support for the F48...unlocking more features

The F48 is still very new for them and tricky with its multiple software versions.
Just hold out and help them where you can. They update the App every few weeks.
The App works flawlessly on many BMW models. Great for those that work on multiple cars.

Give them a bit of time to update the App.
Its not easy to reverse engineer hundreds of BMW software versions and also test it for release.

Same happend with early versions for other models and now they work perfectly.

Remember BMW isnt making this easy for them to do.

In larger BMs such as the 5 series, the steering wheel raises and the seat moves back. This might be useful for...er...large people?!

I coded "Easy Entry" using eSys and it moves the seat back a little when you open the driver's door (with the engine stopped) to get out of the car, and then moves it forward into the stored position when you close the driver's door before starting the engine. It makes it a little easier to get in and out if you are close to the steering wheel. Obviously this is only useful if you have the electric memory seats

This is one of the things I am most interested in (strange I know - but my wife does this manually in her car as she sits very close to the wheel) and I would probably commit to the Carly system if it can do this coding (we have the electric seats)

Clive, did it open your window as Carly suggests it should?

Nope, it had no effect on the windows The only module that gets touched for the "Easy Entry" eSys coding is the seat module, and I believe the windows are controlled by the Body module. The windows can be controlled with the "Comfort Opening" and "Comfort Closing" features of pressing and holding the open or lock buttons on the key fob. Does Carly definitely claim to add the "Easy Entry" (seat movement) feature or is it a mix of terms possibly??

Carly says it lowers the window..... might do the seat as well. ( but I'm sure they would have mentioned it) I haven't tried.... thought I would ask first.

I found the use of the term "Easy Entry" on several forum posts elsewhere describing the seats moving back and forth to make it easier getting out of and in to the car. This is different to the Carly description. The parameter name that I enabled in the seat module was "EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE" but I don't know any German so I'm not sure how this relates, if at all, to "Easy Entry" ?

The only functions that I can see in the BMW coding database relating to windows are the "Comfort Open" and "Comfort Close which opens or closes the windows when holding down the appropriate keyfob button, and disabling the interlock which would normally stop a window moving if it is in the process of open or closing and the door is opened during that operation. I coded this option for the front doors a while back too (FH_TUERAUF_STOP_MAUT).

Just to be clear, I don't have Carly, I'm using the eSys software for coding these options...

Carly list 2 codings
One to open the window and one to automatically close the window after you get in and close the door.

It may just be they are using the term "easy entry" for another feature.

The open window function will be for coupe's when in a tight spot. My old E82 135 did it if I I double tapped the unlock key iirc, guess coding would allow this to happen all the time.

Not relevant to framed doors but was handy when I parked it in my garage as allowed easier access / exit as the wider door couldn't be opened as far.
