PFDAXE: Did you add those M badges yourself?
Here in Canada when you order the M package it comes fully optioned with almost all safety features. I'm surprised that the US models are so different from the Canadian model. In fact when we purchased ours with the executive package it came with thicker glass all around and the 8.8" screen and all the options were already chosen from the dealer as stock. Very happy with the X1. I hired a OBDII programmer to add software options and to increase the HP and TQ. I also added some interior products such as a box under the armrest that looks OEM and an LED projector under the door that illuminates the BMW LOGO on the ground when you open the door. The door handles illuminate when I'm backing up. I have the LED package however I added LEDs for the fogs that are amazing and just as bright as the OEM headlights. Also I added the option to close the mirrors by holding down the door lock button an additional 2 seconds and and when I start the vehicle it deactivates the auto engine on/off that way if I put in eco mode it gets activated. Also it activates automatically when the fuel level is low.

I just upgraded to Bavsound speakers and subwoofers!
Big difference, but big price tag.

Ours is programmed with all of the items you mentioned. The door handles illuminate when backing up. Added the option to open/close the mirrors by holding down the door lock/unlock button, full LED lights including all turn signals, fogs, reverse and brakes. The inner brake lights illuminate with outter brake lights as well as the LED tubes work with the turn signals. The only option package missing is the Drivers Advance with the lane departure etc. Our local dealer is an M specialist shop so they have done a few modified BMW's that they sell like ours with some motor mods, rear diffuser, black roundels, black grill and badging etc. We first looked at a basically stock S-Drive without H/K sound, no sport package, no M package, no cold weather package, no HUD,no pano roof etc. and this one we got was only $1000 more. It was a no brainer. It did have 5% tint on all windows except left and right of driver, so that has been changed to 5% plus a 5% windshield strip. I'm in the process of replacing the run flats and possibly fitting 245/40-19's. I had a donut spare mounted yesterday and have jack and tools ready to go. My wife's JCW Mini had RFT's and we swapped them and made such a difference.
